Well, I think I did well, I have already been invited to one interview with McDonalds, I put about 10 applications in yesterday, so fingers crossed.
However the front page of the local paper doesn't bode well with 73 jobs between 4033 unemployed in my town.
Prospective job is still hanging on. Its my Aunty, so no rush, she is wanting once a fortnight, which really doesn't cover my bus fare and materials (cos I will need to buy them first too)but not complaining.
No fliers as yet, just can't afford them. I need new jeans, before the bum goes in these.
I am hoping that my nanna's carer will take some of the not so impressive business cards around to other clients for me. And I might put some of the nice postcards up in local shops/ rugby club/ pubs .The sign of a wasted life is a tidy house, Welcome to the chaos!0 -
Ah well. Finished work and up to date with my paperwork, for a change, so now i have tomorrow off. I think i'll make the most of it, i have various things i should sort, like informing various people about my change of address. I've been so lazy, blanked it, but i must get everything done now. More work arrived today, and march, onwards, looks set to be busy. My diary is gradually starting to look healthy, at last. I believe some people still have no work at all, so i'm lucky, ( or good at my job ). Most people take an indication of the amount of work I have, to the amount of work thats available. If i've no work, there is no work.
Its true what they say about being self employed. Its either feast or famine. Lets hope the feast is on the way, after the famine. Now, i just have to organise my finances to cope, better, with the famine's. Cash flow, ugh..............Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Got a little more painting done today, with any luck I've only get about an hour left on my dog portrait then I can go back to doing something more enjoyable. I haven't managed to get any of my more businessy bits done though... never mind I'm having a couple of days off next week to do some decorating so maybe I'll get a chance to do that then.
Wordsmith - Good luck with plan B
Luise - Good luck with the job interview, think positive and you'll be fine
Nohope - It sounds like hope is in sight after all... With any luck you'll be worrying about having too much to do soon0 -
Sorry not been around..can't believe I typed a load of drivel the other night..what on earth is livosepeg or whatever it is that ai wrote (confused).
Yesterday was fairly busy because I had to confirm people and confirm with the venue for the breakfast meeting this morning as I have no Ops Assistant to do it. This morning got up at the ungodly hour of 6am and was out of the house at 7am to get to the venue to set up for networking meeting, then I had a photoshoot so will have a lovely photo for my website and I can use it as a profile pic on Twitter, facebook etc. What followed was a meeting with my Regional Leader about the group and about my membership of the network..I am staying for the time being as I want to see what happens and if the promised improvements occur.
Came home and then set to with all the typing, copying etc that I had promised the business club that I am secretary of, that I would do by today. I made up 5 membership packs and gave 2 out at the meeting tonight - this will make life easier for people to join. I printed out a load of forthcoming event leaflets so that people can see what we have coming up in the months to July. Then I overdid the charity nomination forms so now I have some spare paper to use as a notepad. Had the meeting tonight and held the vote for the new charity, am pleased that the charity picked is one that provides help for visually impaired/blind people by providing a resource centre for them as well as a newspaper of local news.
Jobs to do tomorrow - ring the charity and invite them to our AGM, ring my insurers about my insurance and let them know name change, phone my designer as stationery hasn't arrived and I need to get him to send new eps files. Export my old website to my new one and amend and tittivate as necessary. Also need to write up some plans for a business venture that I have at the back of my mind - I am meeting with a venue on Thursday.
Methinks I will go to bed now - I am too tired to even take my makeup off but I am thankful that I haven't got it slapped on thickly and I need to change the sheets on the bed tomorrow anyway.
Will catch up with folks tomorrow

Plan B involved completely re-agenda-ing my day and not leaving the office until nearly 3 a.m.!
Working at a client's in the morning. Have a productive day everyone."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0 -
"Wow" Wordsmith you must be shattered couldnt believe the time of your post!
and another "Wow" Horace you are firing on all cylinders I am very impressed with all you have achieved.
NoHope things seem to be moving in the right direction lets hope we can all squirrel something away for the slack times..that is my dream.
Louise good luck with interviews sending you positive vibes.
Amatheya how are the wonky eyes coming on? I ocassionally dabble with the paints but I usually get to a stage where I dont want to go any further because I feel I will ruin it..very good at starting things but then get stuck..can also be applied to many areas in my life!!!
Have a good day everyone, hugs to those who need one.0 -
donotpassgo - The wonky eyes are slightly less wonky but now one looke a little higher than the other **sigh** you can have a look on my blog if you like.
I get a similare problem with paintings but instead of being afraid I'll ruin them I get about half way through and I'm convinced it's already ruined... It's just something you've got to push on through.
Tonight I'm going to put in some effort to get my dog as close to finished as possible then I'm going to recost my cards and get them up for sale. It's all very well having them printed but what's the point if their not up for sale... Will give myself until 7pm tonight to chill after the day job then I'm going to press on for the rest of the evening.
Hope everyone else has a productive day0 -

Your painting is brilliant, you are very talented. I will keep dropping in to see how the eyes are shaping up (bit scary at the mo..tee hee). Keep pushing to get your cards priced up..absolutely no point in having them printed and not on sale..get the job finished. I am about to take some pics of some stuff to ebay so kicking myself also..thanks for the motivation.0 -
Everyone seems to be more productive than me..today has been mainly procrastination day.
I rang my insurers - they haven't called me back:mad:
I rang the designer about my stationery and then I had a delivery from UPS..thanks it was 1000 sheets of letterhead but no business cards:mad: then I rang the designer because I noticed a mistake on the letterheads..a black square in the top right hand corner so he said it was there to add interest and that it appeared on the original artwork so I dug it out and there it was..I just hadn't seen it..sigh.
Rang the Pocklington Trust and they are over the moon at being picked as our charity of the year - I am going to see them next week.
Have been trying to sort out my new website only not all of it has transferred over so I cannot delete pages as appropriate..also noticed that the header is not that for my business but some odd photograph so need to speak to my computer chappy again..am hoping that it is just a glitch and that he is still working on it.
I have also wasted a load of time too - don't ask me what I have been doing, I haven't a clue.
Tomorrow, I am out at a meeting to discuss my plan for a networking breakfast group with no membership fee..this is a way to earn money. I need to go to the bank and pay a cheque in, need to do online banking, put money into my business account, go the chemist to get my prescription filled before I run out of eye drops. Need to get biccies too so that I can go and visit computer chappy's office - I may end up working for him on sales calls to get some money coming in.
Oh I need to wash my hair too.0 -
Hugs to Horace and everyone.
Well i suppose you could say i've had a productive day. I've spring cleaned my gaff. Something i hate doing, but i have'nt sat down all day. Cleaning, yuk, and i've just posted my driving licence and v5c. I should have done this, 3 months ago, but it just has'nt occured to me. I was in no fit state, and had so many companies to tell of my change of address, i've being doing it as i go along. I should have got my act together. Now i do i tell the car tax people, or wait until my reminder comes, as its due in march, anyway.
On the work front, its onwards and upwards. The MEGA job, for a MEGA client, is all systems go, at the moment. The work has been brought forward to start in two weeks time, and gives me some sort of vaguely guaranteed income, for a whole year, along with any other work i can get my hands on. But as i know, things can change very quickly in this industry, like from yesterday to today, it could just as easily change, tomorrow. Ah well, fingers crossed.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?
