Nohope, you certainly have a lot of potential strings to your bow
I can sympathise with how you feel about the teaching. After 20 years of TEFL, I'm just kind of done with that. And there's not much call for it here in the Hebrides. Although, having said that, there are quite a few Eastern European migrant workers here but I don't think they can afford classes poor things on what they earn here.
Re: the knitting, I do do a stall at the local markets which is about once or twice a month in the summer. And I've sold a few items - mainly crochet baby blankets and knitted cardies etc. on a comission basis. I'm not really a fast enough knitter to have a lot of stock in!
I did talk last year to the guys who run a local heritage centre and they were interested in renting me a space there to have a small shop. But then I got involved in the training for the call centre work and then I got sick, but I think I might revisit that idea.

hellnearth..one kick coming up....get ready...Boooot..hope that worked?
I havent done half of what I had planned to do - I still have the membership packs to sort out and the nomination forms - I do have an excuse I was distracted by a temporary FB group that was created to vent against injustice. I ended up going to bed at some ungodly hour this morning and then waking up late - haven't had lunch yet but did get some stewing steak out of the freezer that has been living in there since October..it was bought from the out of date shelf in Tesco.
I have been livinposeg on cold burnt meatballs and cold gravy - I might treat myself to a toasted cheese sandwich in a while followed by a square of green & blacks cherry chocolate.
NoHope - I wouldn't fret about the fruit or the fish n chips, I meant to go to the chippy last night but got distracted hence the cold leftovers..sigh.
S'pose I had better go eat before I pass out with hunger.0 -

Love the pun hellnearth! Unfortunately i don't have my bow, or my fiddle, at the moment.
Here comes another kick up the backside, too .........bump.......
Can you return the favour, please?
Just procrastinating at the moment. Some time out on here, now i've been to work this morning, when i should be catching up with paperwork, and preparing for tomorrow, as i've an early start and a long day. It will get to the stage where i can put it off no longer, this evening. Then, i'll wish i'd done it, now.Debt free - Is it a state of mind? a state of the Universe? or a state of the bank account?

Procrastinating seems to be a theam at the moment... I too have failed to get half of what I wanted done but on the bright side I have gotten over my artists black and started painting again. My pet portrait is about half way there and I've got two more paintings I want to do after that so I should have enough work to set up a online gallery soon
I still need to sort out a card shop though, I just feel so tired at the moment that it's really hard to get motivated to do anything that doesn't involve sitting on the sofa and letting my mind go blank.
Oh well, I've put my daylight bulb up for a bit and that seems to help, I think I usually get a bit sleepy this time of year, I'll start perking up now the weather's getting warmer and the nights are getting lighter0 -
Thanks for not booting me off this thread.:j
Off course me being on here means I am procrastinating..I have a list (in my head, writing it down takes too much effort) and I've just put the kettle on.
As I said on my previous post my bookkeeper (BK) keeps me sane. Our business is very seasonal and we live feast to famine somehow scraping through. The BK will gee me up with "well we've been through worse" and "at least its not September" (the start of the big famine). BK must dread coming in sometimes when I'm in my dragging myself around stage. So a big thank you to BKeepers for keeping us entrepreneurs on the straight and narrow and for the encouragement we get.

Hmm, I think I have come unstuck! Thought I would at one point, or other, but I have been spending a little too much ( on things to set the business up) but seem to have come to the end of my money
So today I have been looking for part time jobsnot that I have stopped really, but I am making a big effort today. Anything and everything considered. Just needing uniform, stock and leaflets, not a huge amount, but it would be nice to have a guarenteed income, however small

Hi Loiuse_1981, I hope you get something to help out soon, cashflow is such a pain it would be lovely if it flowed in faster than it went out:mad:0 -
Gah! sometimes I hate art, my pet portait has wonky eyes and I just don't seem to be able to fix them! I hate eyes, the world would be better without them... ok, maybe not, but this dog deffinately would be!
Hope you get yourself sorted Louise.0 -
Morning all. Was at a client's all day yesterday, so didn't get a chance to come on here. It wasn't a great day - more accounts that don't balance! What is wrong with me - bah! I had a headache all day, so left a bit earlier than usual, but still didn't get home till 8.30. Was in bed by 9.30 but was drifting in and out of sleep all night with migraine - the pain behind my eyes was intense, and I felt so ill I couldn't even get up to find my tablets. Crawled out of bed this morning and have made it in to the office (having, thankfully, found some painkillers). Back to the dreaded accounts - I must finish them today as I am at another client's tomorrow. I also have to hand out the benefits at the post office, so I hope my muzzy head doesn't mean I give out the wrong money. Then teaching tonight - I am so not looking forward to that. You may have noticed that lack of decent sleep makes me a tad grumpy.:o
Louise, I hope you find some part-time work that fits around your new business. How did your prospective client turn out - did you get work? Have you started distribuiting your fliers? If there's a WI meeting near you, you could ask the secretary or chair whether they could take some of the fliers to their meeting.
Hope you get the eyes right, Amatheya.
And while I was writing that, I had a call from the pubisher saying that the current book I have is urgent and can I get it back today? Er, no.
OK, off to find a plan B.
Have a good day, all."Green pastures are before me,
Which yet I have not seen;"
I'd love to be a good example - instead, I am a horrible warning.0
