Morning all! Hope everyone has had a good easter - i am not wise in the head opening up today - the town is deserted as most places have taken Monday and Tuesday off, so I might bale out early if I'm not busy. There are lots of horsey things on locally today, so my customers will be at them rather than shopping. Plus it is chucking it down.

Glad to hear you're on the mend Horace. I hate being sick. OH had a blip over the weekend - something did not go his way and he flipped his lid like i have NEVER seen before and it scared me. I rang the crisis team who came in to him when he first came out of hospital and guess what.... good old NHS - he has to have a referral from his GP to see them again... the GP is closed to Thursday. So I am a bit frustrated. Grrrrrrrrrr.

Oh that felt good to get that off my chest!

    Afternoon all

I had a quiet Easter at home just me, the telly and my portable DVD player. Have started feeling ill again - the cough is back:mad: anyways I am off out tomorrow (to spread it around:rotfl:) and to go to eye hospital to pick up spex so I shall stop off at the other hospital for a chest xray...sigh.

Got up late this morning..had a call from the group leader of my 4N group asking if I wanted him to drop into Morrisons for some shopping but I declined as I discovered shopping online. One thing that I have vowed never to do is buy those Rooster spuds - I have kept them in the dark and went to get some yesterday for a jacket spud to find that they had all sprouted and gone soft:mad:

Had an extensive chat with a firm today with a view to possibly working together - watch this space for something a bit different.

TCM - just a thought about your shop and the horsey shows - for the next one ask how much a stand costs and have a stand to sell your horsey bits n bobs or get one of your suppliers to sponsor it so you dont have to pay huge fees.

Sorry to hear that OH flipped and scared you - to the NHS sometimes they can be incompetent buffoons.

I have started updating my website and have found a book about writing copy that I have had for a while and so I shall be using that to assist me along with the free advice given by a copywriter. I am now toying with another idea to become a mediator and even getting back onto the motivational speaking trail (having done several motivational speaking gigs at bham uni to groups of women). Jeepers, I am so hyper these days.

Anyhow - hope y'all have a fabby week.

Sounds like you're busy as always Horace - don't know why but I read that you were going to hospital for sex not spex! Had to read that again carefully!!! I'd started to wonder what they were offering on the NHS!!!:rotfl:

I've just had a regular client phone up for a last minute appointment and I've fitted her in as I wasn't working at all today. Of course I told her I'd had a last minute cancellation so that was why I could see her. So, I need to scrub up a bit and make myself look presentable! (that'll only take me several hours:D!)

    Speak soon xx

Muddy - believe me I certainly didnt go to the hospital for sex - there are no dishy docs there and anyway the dispensing optician isnt exactly thin, it would be like being squashed under a mattress:eek: Naughty Horace still hasnt been to have her chest xray either..I decided that I didnt want to go today as I had bags with me..I had a mystery shop to do (lunch) and I noticed the sale was on so I bought a nice sun hat (burnt the back of my neck whilst away and gave myself mild sunstroke), some of the handlotion I like from Lancome and some perfume (I am hoping I can take it back or I can flog it on ebay or give it away as a present) to get a free gift worth £71 - containing a sample of hypnose senses perfume, a lipstick, mascara, full size eyeshadow palette, some face cream and other bits of gloop (these will make handy presents) and a digital photo frame that I can use for wedding fairs - the nice man in the shop gave me a customer receipt with the full price on it so if I changed my mind I would get £69 back instead of the £62 that I paid for it...I got a better one because it has its own memory and I can easily download stuff from my laptop to it.

Had a chat this afternoon about weddings in Gran Canaria - have booked the ad in the posh mag too. Now I need a rest.:rotfl:

Anyway I need to crack on...good luck with your customer this afternoon (well done on saying you had had a cancellation).

    Hi gang

Hope you're all beavering away and trying to enjoy this glorious weather that we are having?

I am back driving now which is fab although yesterday I only drove as far as tescos (which isnt that far) today I went to a breakfast meeting in Redditch, I have another one in Birmingham tomorrow and one in Walsall on Thursday although I have managed to blag a lift to that one.

I am about to have a new blog..the new domain name was bought today and after speaking to the chappie who is sorting out my blog..will be moving my website to him at the end of my free hosting period because it will cost me £12.99 a month and I will be able to do more things because he has thought of ways for me to make more money:cool: I shall also be making money from my blog..I likes free money:rotfl: Have had loads of chats with people and am thinking of concentrating on a niche market..gay weddings...gosh, there are so many things that I want to do.

Am looking at getting a new computer too before my laptop dies as it will make more sense to have a proper tower unit and then I can carry my laptop around with me if I want or get a Netbook (I nearly bought one on QVC the other day). I don't watch QVC that often but did the other night and bought myself a set of 3 splatterguards..these are made of silicone and can be used as trivets and even cooking pizza - therefore they are much more use than the large metal one that I have at the moment which will be put in the recycling bin.

I also need to do my accounts so that my accountant() can do my tax return. Need to go to the post office too to get a box weighed and a price for first class recorded delivery postage so that I can send the base discs to a client..fabby my first paying client:D

    Hiya!

Horace - glad you're driving again, that must make life so much easier!

We've had a nice weekend away but the children still aren't back at school because they have chest infections! Luckily my mum has had them for a bit so I could still work. A neighbour popped round earlier to book an appointment so I only need one more treatments to be booked before the end of the April to reach this months target that I set myself! I'm sure that's doable!

Off to watch a dvd with my children - I live such a jet set life!

    Hope you're all busy xx

    Hiya everyone!

Hope you're all ok and working hard!

I forget how up and down being self employed can be. On Friday I had three clients cancel (all rebooked for next month so not the end of the world) but it really lowered my figures for this month and meant I had to do some juggling as the money was already 'spent'. Low and behold, today I've had four people book in so it's all evened out. Think I need to have a bit more faith!

My webpage is really generating business so I need to advertise that a bit more. I had a lady from Cornwall buy a voucher for her friend who lives near me (in the North). Without the webpage that would never have happened! With this in mind i've changed my freeline in the yellow pages so it should include my web address.

Horace - hope you're feeling much, much better. Must be great to be driving again!

TCM - hope things are Ok with you xx

Hi all - sorry I havent been around, I have been a tad busy. I am feeling loads better and am enjoying the driving. I have been and am still working on a project for a client (this was his auction win of my time for half a day) to find venues for his half day seminars - it may be one but it may mushroom into more.

The 4N group that I go to got closed down today and I have been tasked with finding a new venue (what joy)...so I am killing two birds with one stone and looking at the same venues for my client.

I joined a different networking group last week - the DDBC which have been around for £25 years and their annual membership fee is £25 and we pay £15 for a 2 course dinner with coffee - I know the new chairman and he has offered to give me lifts because although I could drive there in the daylight I am stuffed when it comes to driving back in the dark.

Had to email my mate in Gran Canaria today to try and pin him down over this UK agent thing because I feel as though I have been left hanging - the gay market is the one I shall be tapping into as no-one in my area organises weddings for them.

Received a call from the chamber of commerce today too and had a visitor turn up this afternoon to discuss my self employment - this is the first time that they have contacted me since I started working for myself so I told them what I was doing, how I was coping and that their start up membership was a complete rip off...I then asked for a course on sales.

Did I say that I had been in business for 12 months from 28 April?:D

Hope you are all OK and not working too hard.

Hey - sorry to not have been about the past few weeks. I am doing my ususal and taking the shop by the boot straps and giving it a good shake. I have found a new way of going - I am paying for everything up front and am just beavering away at what is owed and i can for the first time in over a year, see the light at the end of the tunnel. Oh, and I have a rug to make for a sheep.... yes...

I am also working on the web site but my broadband at home is not working because i dared to question the bill. I was quoted £9.99 per month but for 3 months got a bill of £54 which i refused to pay.

Glad you're driving again Horace, I hate having to depend on anyone to take me anywhere.
