Barclays are a joke

She would be better off going to a credit union.0

The question is would I have got the right answer? Let me give you a few examples.
1. MSE ran a special discussion on the regular saver and the branch staff misunderstanding the interest.
2. As for the new Golden ISA some branches accept post dated cheques and others don't and some I have read have told people to go back on the 6th even though they are flogging the products now.
3. Someone has said that the savings and branch team have given them 2 different answers about transferring money via BACS to an ISA.
I am interested in a serious discussion but the thing is you have to be willing to engage with it and not ignore the facts to suit your case. You have not admitted that there are problems at Barclays.
I have had dealings with a number of different banks, building societies, credit unions ect but I have never had a customer helpline with so many options and I had to say that I was a current customer if I wanted to talk to a member of staff and by the time I did that it told me the line was closed. Also the email I sent to the internet team could not answer my basic question.BarclaysManager wrote: »Why would any of us be interested in talking in a thread such as this?
You're not interested in having any sort of discussion, merely slinging insults around at a business. Had your thread been entitled "Could any Barclays staff help me understand this?" then I might have been interested.0 -
It is not insulting to point out that Barclays don't have a consistant policy and that they offer a bad level of service. I suspect that Barclays staff don't want people to challenge the great British unethical bank.
Also Inactive this comes from a man who expects people to know how online banking works when everything is not clearly laid out.
I also see BarclaysManager has not responded to any of the customer complaints about things like inconsistant service and an ISA been held back from a new provider.
Maybe the brain washing works at Barclays more than any other UK bank.
It is not mine nor anyone else who is a member of Barclays staff to patrol these forums and respond to complaints.
That is what the groups complaint procedure is for, you will find it clearly marked on the Barclays website.
Have a nice day!;)Personal Banker at Barclays0 -

Is arrogance and sarcasm a prerequisite of employment with Barclays? ... or is it part of staff training?:rolleyes:0 -
I took the advise and complained to group complaints though I don't think I will get very far to judge by the website and the wording of the email.
On the site it says that they can deal with complaints via email, post, phone. When I got the email it told me that they can only deal with complaints via phone or post due to security. Surely even a bank like Barclays should not put something on the website that it turns out is not true.
I could have gone to a branch but then I don't want to go to a branch where you have to queue up for hours and then they try to sell you every piece of rubbish they have. It does not have to be like this at the Co-Op and Yorkshire Building Society and even HSBC I get seen at a reasonable time.
I have noticed one thing that the staff love Barclays but Matthew Barrett wouldn't even use the credit cards due to the heavy cost. http://www.fairinvestment.co.uk/deals/news/credit_cards-news-Barclays-boss-admits-cards-%27too-expensive%27-2997167.html maybe he knows more about Barclays then the staff do.
I just thought that I would check the complaints procedure as it takes no time at all from me.0 -

They can deal with complaints by email and phone, all financial organisations have to answer complaints by post.

I take it you mean they can't rather than they can.
If they can't deal with them via email then that option should not be on the site.0 -

I mean they "CAN", they "CAN" "deal" via email because someone can put their points across by email just that Financial organisations shouldnt respond by email.
A couple of years ago I complained in relation to Tax Beater ISA application delays via Barclays site, I chased up via email, these chase ups were acknowledged by email, holding responses and eventual complaint answering came by letter via Royal Mail.
What exactly do you view as the problem with that. :huh:0 -
The problem is I clicked on the thing where it said I wanted a response by email but the email in aknowledgement said I should get a phone call or a letter. In order to avoid the former I have not given them my phone number.
They should be able to reply via email as I did not pass any secure information to them as I had none to pass.0 -
Good old Barclays I got a letter sometime ago. Sorry I have not posted here as I have been meaning to but forgot. Anyway the letter was an aknowledgement just like the email and I don't see a letter explaining their high level of service coming.0
