  • I don't know whether you can find clementines this time of year, but this recipe also works well with lemons, mandarins and oranges. It's Nigella's Clementine cake recipe. It is delicious and gluten free.

    I always use some ground almonds in Cherry Cake - I think it was in a very old copy of Good Housekeeping Cookery Book.

    Now I want one and I'm the only one who eats it in this house!

    Hope this helps i brought alarge bag today for half price from julien greeves health shop in burton on trent to day along with loads of other stuff as they have a clearance sale everything half price spent a lot but saved a lot also,

    You could get a tin of cherries, stone them, line a sweet pastry case with the ground almonds (and I think you mix some in with the pastry), and make a gorgeous cherry pie. I'm sure I have the recipe somewhere ... if anyone would like it. Best cherry pie ever.
