I lurk too Mrs! Always look out for your thread cos you make I laugh, lots.

My hubby and I also had a riches to rags story, and have been picking up the pieces for the last few years. Found this site last March and have been inspired to deal with the debt instead of adding to it. Have paid off over £10K of debt since then, and still plugging away, despite a job loss and reduced new salary!

You were doing so well; really hope things turn around again and you can continue your good work. Keep posting!

not laughing.. .actually want to throw up. not cos i sick but cos i scared.

OH tells me that from friday its all over. looked in bank account and his salary has gone in plus my little bit and we are still just over 5K o/d. we have 6 k coming from a credit card transfer.. but we are on the edge and dont kwow what do to.

does anyone know.. if you have credit cards as we do and you have paid the monthly min can you call them in times of trouble and tell them you are having trouble paying and will they be lenient and say you dont have to pay as much? we have sooo much on repayments each month and that is a killer.

sad mrscmr and just a bit worried

    Hello,

    We shall overcome etc etc.

Tomorrow have a look at this link http://www.nationaldebtline.co.uk/england_wales/debt_advice.php#4

And at (scarey bit coming but don't shut your eyes) the bankrupcy thread because they have a sticky on there full to busting on phone numbers, fact sheets, templates you can download etc etc.

There are a number of places to get help Debtline, CCCS and CAB. Some you may have to make an appointment for but lots of stuff available via the web. Here to help you through all of it. You can post questions up there as well because there seems to be lots of ways to skin this particular cat.

But tonight sleep and then you'll be fresh to tackle this tomoz. I'll PM you my details if you want a hand with anything or just to offload.

Keep your chin up...you're strong and capable and will come through this glitch!

This is a step by step guide produced by the CAB. It details exactly what the options are and what they mean.

Even if you also seek help, doing this will make sure you have all the info to hand and they can then act faster for you.
