good luck with the full and final offers. Any money you can save is going to enhance your new life.
What an opportunity regarding your children. I think being able to live abroad can be a great learning experience. Just don't be surprised if they take a while to cope with it. Are they going to a school where they are taught in the local language? If so start learning them it now!
cheers and good luck

very interesting, yes for example egg turned my cc into a loan with no charges... hmmm will see what happens then!
Of course, if they won't play ball, are you under any obligation to pay them off any faster just because you've got some cash now? You could just treat it as an interest-free loan over the next umteen years, invest the cash, and pocket the interest. No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0 -

It's funny cos I was thinking something like that today when talking with someone about paying down our mortgage......if inflation kicks off (which it is slowly but surely) it errodes/pays off some of the debt for 'free'.
So, you could keep them all going (if 0%) and inflation will do part of the pay down for you. It all depends if the DMP's are lifetime or just for a period of time.....and then they want to whack on interest again.
If the CC was turned into a loan, did they add interest or take the total and divvy it up into a monthly amount over x years? May be harder to settle on that as it's not technically in any kind of DMP.0 -
If it's any help to you, I'm a finance 'expert' although I work in a different field. So, if you can explain what the arrangement is with the DMP, I can do the sums to give you some idea of what the lenders are currently valuing your debt at.No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?0
