  • Aww I went through that stage, too. Very emotional time when you're already strung out with all the worry you've been through. I don't regret it now its over and I'm sure that you'll soon settle somewhere and enjoy your new debt free status. ;)

Oh, I hate moving home. It's documented (somewhere!) as being one of the most stressful things you can experience. Being in debt is another, so I guess one cancels the other out, though. Keep your pecker up.
No reliance should be placed on the above! Absolutely none, do you hear?

I really do believe you'll be much happier. A lovely house is wonderful but debt is destroying, as we all know. I shed a fair few tears at losing my 'perfect home.' I'll just have to make another. ;)

Think it will take me a while to fully appreciate just how lucky we were to come out of it with a sale and not a repo. If the interest rates had flown up it could have gone that way for us.

To put this in perspective, we had to move out of our home because it burnt down. More seriously still, one of the children was trapped in the house (a teenager sleeping in) and had to be rescued by the Fire Brigade. We literally ended up with the clothes we were standing up in, but we were all together and all unharmed, so that was what really mattered.

mrscmr WOOHOO on selling your house. But boohoo on feeling sad about it. I think when you have done those full and final settlements, then the relief you feel, the weight not pressing on your shoulders, will make it worth while. The benefit just isn't really yet for you that is the thing.

GDB2222 OMG so glad you are all ok
