We've opened a shop where people can drop off their items and we ebay them for them and send them a cheque with their profits at the end.

We've had a few enquiries and the first real live customer gave us 3 lots to list and sell today. Not worth that much but she seems happy with the estimates we gave her and is happy to see how it goes.

Quite a few older people have popped in cos they've heard of ebay but don't do computers.

Your business seems to be going great guns...you must be delighted.

That's such a good idea.....esp for older people who don't do computers.
Does anyone remember FrockSwap type places?
They were popular in the 80's....you took your old clothes in (but good stuff, branded) and got a cut when they sold.
I set one up with someone when I was a student....took a lot of cash for her...unfortunately, I was just the Part timer.

I imagine most have dies out as price deflation took hold on clothing prices the last 10 years.

Hope son is feeling better...and thinking of on Thursday appt.

Any chance OH could relocate back to UK for work?

ETA Yay ;-)....lump sums make things go so much easier;-)

Yes, I remember the frock swap shops of the '80's, my auntie owned one. You brought back great memories of me helping her out in her shop in Dundas Street, Edinburgh.

I think there are a lot of eBay shops in America. Well done Kissjenn!

Hope the family are feeling a bit better mrscmr.
I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.

How long have you been on an arrangements with them? Usually they like 6 months in hand before considering them.

If you are up to date and still on a regular credit agreement with interest and are meeting min payments, they may not do any deal at all.

I don't know your full situation but keeping some in hand feels sensible to me for the moment.

What's the worst one for interest? Try 'phoning them up and see what they say...nothing ventured. 50% would be reasonable.

Maybe, ''I am up to date but am anticipating a change in circumstances over the next few months but a family member has offered to help me clear my debts before they become a nightmare'' and see what they say.

The best one I've hear off for F&Fs was I/ my partner has been made redundant. I/he have a lump sum as a severance package.... I would like to give a chunk of it to you, !!!!!! of a bank, before we get into mucho difficulties with our vastly reduced income and become completely incapable of paying you anything at all.

That's a great one and similar to mine.......I think def worth a try. M+ S may clear for 50% I know I had an MBNA for about £450 and they took £220 and closed the acccount. It went on as partial settlement and the default stays for 6 years but if you don't mind having a trashed score then well worth it.

Hope son is OK..I read up on Coeliac disease and seems the diet works on managing the symptoms.
    Have a good day.
