Focused and Positive, thank you for reminding me that there is someone worse off than you. Have been feeling a bit frazzled the last two weeks, and now feel a bit calmer having read your pos.t so thanks for that.

Hi Mrs how are you doing now? One thing I would say ref the CV you can tailor it to the job - NOT LIE just couch in the appropriate words for the position you are applying for?

Ref the Mollymaid not sure how it works either but I would imagine it is quite physically demanding, so you would get fit as well as get money - win win!

might apply to be a maid - wonder how it works?

I worked for a cleaning agency when I was retraining for my present work ... it was good, actually, and you can choose the hours you want.

Hi Chev - not sure about the expiry thing, but I lost my most recent one, phoned the freebie helpline, and they said they'd send me a replacement. Its worth a try on the expired one, I'd think.

  • Hi Positive - that is such a lovely message. You too are coping so well in difficult times. I am unemployed currently and I hate it but I count my blessing in my kids and OH every day.

MrsC - money is money. Sometimes we have to take it from wherever we can legitimately get it. If that is being a maid so be it!

    made big mistake...
had to go to john lewis... havent been in there in yonks and now i know why. it is truely the most wonderful place and the things are beautiful but... at a price [yes i know "never knowingly undersold"] but just made my heart drop into boots as realised that it was soo far out of my league these days that i couldnt buy any of the lovelies ... and i was good - even have a john lewis cc that is currently 'resting' - didnt use it - could have used it - was strong!

but sad all the same :-(

    Mortgage-free Glee!
Hope the headache's better. You did well at John Lewis's, too nice in there. I've some vouchers I got for my birthday but saving them for when I have a bit of cash to splash and getting something uber nice rather than just spending them for the sake of.

How does the maid thing work? Is it a franchise or a straightforward turn up and get paid? Does it pay well?

Nice to see Chev again...hello, how's sunny NZ. Is it just turning to Spring there while we face winter brrrr?

Job is still up in the air so lots of prep and money in trying to win. Keeping positive that meeting went well and client seemed to like what I had to offer.

  • Hi Mrs CMR

Hope you are feeling better about things. I had a dark dark mood this am. When they come over you, they take over, and then you have to really look to within, and start feeling the passion, and urgency for achieving those goals closest to your heart. John Lewis will still be there - we hope in these current times - when you are debt free! Do you have a goal board. Why not get some pictures of the things you like in there, plonk them on a goal board, look at that board each day, work your debts lower and lower so you can achieve those things on your board. On my goal board I have an MBNA heading with "Paid off" on it. This is the debt out of all of them that I want to be rid of most of all. Ive written myself a cheque for £5000 which is my target income to achieve through my business on a four weekly basis over the next 1/2 years. Looking at these things just makes me feel so much better, and I contemplate the feeling of elation there will be WHEN not if I achieve them. Take care Mrs CMR
