well you may well ask why am i on here are 1.20AM??? the answer is i am having a nice cup of weak tea and a biscuit becos my stupid hubby is SNORING LIKE A BIG BEAR IN A CAVE!!!!! i cannot stand it!!!

hi Ferox666 - hub and i both work in the computer software world, i freelance to fit around kids and hub have own business with others working round the world - all over really. i used to have big massive income but now my income is smaller than a pair of mouse socks. [thats very small!] we got a little too greedy and lived like emperors for many years!

    alas no more.
as for SOA -oooo if i posted that then people would pass out. i have it in my little excel spreadsheet - well not all of it but 95% - enough for me to see my progress on a monthly basis. i know we have many many luxuries we could cut out still but im dealing with the obvious ones like - dont go shopping like a person who has just won the lottery, dont do a massive supermarket shop in waitrose. dont book holidays that cost the same as a small family car. dont buy ur kids games and toys every day! dont have botox [ok ok - dont pretend ur shocked] but i think ur getting the picture?
anyway im dealing and its up and down - some days good and some days not so good.
how is everyone else doing - i would love to know? Im guessing im not on my own in here - i know i have my regular friends karen, mrs gg, SH and others - so thanks for that makes me feel much better.
right off to bed to listen to some more snoring.
some times his snoring is so bad that i get the phone, dial his mobile number, wait for it to go onto ansaphone and record him snoring. then in the morning when he is off to work and listens to his messages he can listen to himself snoring.
    does that make me wierd?
    ha ha
    night nightx

    Morning :D

I'm hoping you are tucked up fast asleep or if anything your hubby is cooking you breakfast in bed after the snoring incident :rotfl:

I think it's great you are tackling things little by little, it's a huge change in lifestyle for you and is tough! I had over 60K of debt when first started dmp and to be honest for the year prior to me starting it I kinda dug my head in the sand and carried on living as if the debts weren't there. Now moneys tight, but for some reason I love it (in a weird way) because I know it's a means to an end.

You've cleared so much in a short space of time, just imagine what the next six months will bring :j....mind you, you might have an empty house with all the ebaying!!! ;)

Have a lovely day, i'm overtiming....6 more hours to my aim for 50 in June payday :T

    K,xx

I think we might have guessed that by how much you've paid off already and the fact you think you can be debt free in such a short amount of time for your size of debt

i know we have many many luxuries we could cut out still but im dealing with the obvious ones like - dont go shopping like a person who has just won the lottery, dont do a massive supermarket shop in waitrose. dont book holidays that cost the same as a small family car. dont buy ur kids games and toys every day! dont have botox
Well done on the luxuries you have cut out and the downsizing in expectations you have done. We too have little luxuries we probably shouldn't but ours are more the odd takeaway or item of clothing LOL!

anyway im dealing and its up and down - some days good and some days not so good.
As long as you have more good days than bad then it all helps

how is everyone else doing - i would love to know? Im guessing im not on my own in here - i know i have my regular friends karen, mrs gg, SH and others - so thanks for that makes me feel much better. You are welcome
We don't have your kind of income but even so when I first posted on here I too was embarassed at our size of income compared with some other posters. Now we are down to just one wage - we are more average for the site I think! Now I've seen a few more SOAs I have realised that a lot of relatively high earners have massive debt! I think people get lulled into a false sense of security! I can't wait to be earning again tho and making real progress on debt clearance!

anyway good luck with your journey!

  • MrsC - you are WAY politer than me regarding the snoring. I would have jabbed him in the ribs til he rolled over or rolled off the bed.

Progress is progress no matter the size of that progress. As I have said before become MSE savvy and making changes to your spending is the key. Having your head out of the sand and taking responsibility as to WHY you have your debt is another step.

Don't beat yourself up (says the person who repeatedly beats herself up! LOL), instead be PROUD that you have made a change.

Think how much you know what you would be in if you were still living your old lifestyle. Less of up **** creek without a paddle, but more like in the middle of the Atlantic with no paddle, huge hole in the boat, with sharks circling beneath you.......

righto well its the end of the weekend.
the ironing pile is larger - no smaller than it was - pretending to iron is not working - OH has seen through it and looked at me despairingly.
considering strongly ringing up my old ironing lady and appealling to her mercy and saying pls take my ironing.
on the up side - helped child #2 with his project, child # 3 has done all homework. they are all watching the simpsons all tucked up in bed.
i have not tackled my paid work which is really bad cos then i feel all anxious - so i will do some between now and 10pm. hells kitchen final tonight so cant miss that.

pressue on OH has resulted in him saying ... oh ok look for a holiday then - all inclusive so we dont spend too much extra. i have a couple in mind but have to ring up tomorrow. at the end of the day we dont need it really but some sun and relaxing would do us all the world of good.
the garden is looking good but still need to do some work on the back.
ebay is not so hot over the last few days cos i havent listed much and the items i have listed dont finsih for a few days - a couple of bids and quite a few watchers.

this week i will finish all the ironing, clear out the garage, list on ebay, and send my letters of to the FO for my ppi reclaims. plus finish my paid work and do my invoice!
    i will i will i will
hope everyone has had a reasonable weekend!
    have a great week!

hi mrsC - hope you get your paid work done. I must admit I have a cleaner and will only give her up if I have no other choice! I therefore completely understand if you do decide to go for an ironing lady. We found before we had a cleaner we would eat out or get takeaways most nights as neither of us have that housework gift. I know some people think that is just lazy but for me certainly when I'm working it offers good value for money and makes me more able to work full time....

Hi MrsC - 1 child in bed - just told the other one to go to bed too (since reading your thread reminded me that he was still up!) I still need to START washing the clothes for the uniform. My DS has just informed me that he has NO wearable trousers having split them, painted them or whatever to a number of pairs he has NONE left! I will check and see if I can find any others for him, he proposes to wear a pair with a split at the crotch tomorrow bless :rotfl:Do you think I should get my sewing kit out? :o I think my son nicked my only needle to get a splinter out :rotfl:I sometimes feel like the guy in Dad's Army going "we are doomed, we are all doomed"! Oh well, onwards and upwards!

ha ha that made me laugh.
child #3 also has 2 pairs of trousers with split - thankfully though 1 pair with no split.
is it cos they grow like lightening? or cos they are boys!
