Are there usually fees for doing the hotel assignments at RE? The one near me has a good reimbursement, but no fee.

    Fee? RE? Are you serious?!

Sorry, couldn't resist. No, no fee.

Funny, isn't it, how 'fee' sounds silly when talking about RE? I'm not even joking - it does actually sound funny!

Well, somebody else took the hotel. At least I know now that I can see them!

    Hello

Ive applied to be a mystery shopper but can I ask is a lot of it linked to restaurant chains as I would have problems with this if It involves ordering certain meals as Im a vegan! Other shopping Id be fine with.

I can only be free evenings, weekends and holidays as I work in education - would this be flexible enough?

    Thanks

    Morning all,

I'm on whine mode today please forgive me, but I'm mad at the golden arches burger chain. Gap rang me last week asking me to do a premium visit there as I had been specifically requested by golden arches and they had increased the fee for me.

So, I agreed to do it. So, off I pop last Friday to the place and just as I was getting there mynext door neighbours husband was also going there, so I entered the place at the same time. He asked me to sit with him, as normal people do, and to try being shown as a mystery shopper I agreed, as there were staff in earshot and it would raise suspicion if I said sorry, gotta do this one alone.

So anyway, golden arches have now come back and said they wont pay cause I didn't do it on my own.

    You think thats bad?

Gap refused to pay up on one I did locally for the same chain, aparantly I revealed myself to be a MS and the staff recognised me and told their manager.

I received an email from Gap saying "The store believes they recognised you and described you as being female, late 30s, wearing a flowery dress"

To which I replied "I am a male, early 20s, and I was wearing smart dress as I was having my lunch break from work"

I mean, come on. As if I'd go in and say, "Hello, I am a mystery shopper"

It depends who you joined. RE would not be good, GFK would be better. For many reasons, not just vegan!

    That made me chuckle.

I had a call from RE querying a report that I did and asking me why I hadn't purchased a product they'd stipulated that I had to purchase. I also got a follow up email from their proofreading team.

I detailed in the main body of the report exactly why I hadn't purchased the required item. You'd think their proofreading team would have noticed this. Alas no.

Why do we even bother eh?
