I just got a phone call from Gap, offering me loads of jobs for May. Petrol, travel agents, mobile phone, coffee, small supermarkets - think I've got 19 in total. I did turn down the fast food ones as I'm doing Slimming World, and he offered me 5 x Ladbrokes but I've not done the accrediation test so I couldn't have them.

I asked if they were going to allocate jobs this way in future rather than put them on the website and he said yes!

So wait for your phone call, guys!!!!

So that's why they called last week. I ended up with about 8 jobs all in all and had to turn down a load more as they were too far away. When he called he said he'd noted I hadn't done many jobs for them over the past weeks. I explained that this was because the board was empty and he agreed it was. Hopefull then if I do these jobs right I'll get some more. I too am waiting for the stamp jobs as I want to do some more competitions. Ooh and some bookies jobs too please if anyone from GAP is reading. Thank you xxx

I find taking the kids with me on a petrol job is useful. "Excuse me, do you have a toilet, my son/daughter is desperate!" - works every time and no-one suspects a thing.

I was the same - got loads of jobs by phone a couple of weeks ago - woohoo!

As much as I used to hate GAP, I have grown to like them now they call me and have a chat with me when offering jobs. The reports are so easy too so they're back at the top of my list for value for money jobs (as I only do certain nice ones of theirs)

    *waits for the sacking email*

Same here - I took three petrol jobs as I'm going to the Birmingham NEC so the petrol is now taken care of. To the nice person who asked where I lived sorry I forgot to reply - I'm in South Wales. The other jobs I accepted where all in the same places so fitted in quite nicely. I've got 3 weeks to do them in as well so hopefully other jobs will come along that I can slot in as well.

If goods are faulty you should be able to take them back by law. I was one of the daft people who did this job. Read the damn client wrongly and saw the fee from another job and as I was rushing trying to get DD to school accepted it without reading it properly - that will teach me. I usually get DH's t-shirts from the other sports shop - the one with three letters starting with the same letter as this job. When I read the notes through again and found you cuoldn't return the items I did think what a cheek. This is just a way to get rid of stock and make their sales figures look better - what a waste of time!! When I went in there was nothing under £20 and to be honest given the option I would have shopped elsewhere cause there was nothing in there that I could honestly say I wanted - ended up with a hoodie for when I start exercising again (yeah right!!!).

I've done a couple of these before (long time ago though).

I'd spotted the re-imbursement wouldn't cover the item so planned to take the thing back.
I paid by cash and then waited until RE had paid the job etc and then
    returned it-maybe two weeks after.

You could muddy the waters by exchanging the item and then taking it back.

I can't see The sports shop\RE taking the time to check every refund.
Just leave it a while. :D

    Each to his own.

Just received payment from MCE for a small job I did for them. I received payment through paypal, and paypal has deducted fees! Is this always the case? When I receive payments from online surveys I don't have to pay fees out of the money!

No call off GAP for myself or my OH, bit dissapointed in the new system as they'll most likely only offer jobs near our house, and we both work an hour in opposite directions so more often than not we take jobs near there.

Have to admit (don't throw things at me!) I like the layout of REs new site better and find it easier to navigate, although its ridiculously unreliable and the server is completely inadequate.

  • I did a MS for a concession in a department store today but when I arrived I was informed by a staff member in a neighbouring department that all staff members for that concession were off work today, one on holiday and one called in sick.

I couldn't do the shop as the assignment was to purely a customer service assessment. After forking out money for the tram I thought, great - time and money wasted as I now wont get paid for this.

But then I realised it wasn't an RE assignment, I wouldn't lose points or any money - it was for a very good company who are a pleasure to work for and when I rang them - (yes, you can ring them too and speak to someone!) they were very sympathetic and told me that I would still get my full payment for the assignment as they would still be billing the client. Can you imagine RE telling you that? The amount of times they hold back payment on jobs due to some minor technicality or spelling error - I bet they still bill the client!
How lovely to come across such a great MS company! It's not all doom and gloom, some of them are actually really good. Just steer clear of RE if you want a fair deal. ;)

You don't have to use the toilet and if it's THAT bad  then you should report on it. That's (one of) the reasons why you are there:rolleyes:

What's so embarrassing about asking to go to the loo
