    Morning all,

I'm on whine mode today please forgive me, but I'm mad at the golden arches burger chain. Gap rang me last week asking me to do a premium visit there as I had been specifically requested by golden arches and they had increased the fee for me.

So, I agreed to do it. So, off I pop last Friday to the place and just as I was getting there mynext door neighbours husband was also going there, so I entered the place at the same time. He asked me to sit with him, as normal people do, and to try being shown as a mystery shopper I agreed, as there were staff in earshot and it would raise suspicion if I said sorry, gotta do this one alone.

So anyway, golden arches have now come back and said they wont pay cause I didn't do it on my own.
GRR! Surely if you ORDERED on your own, and paid on your own, does it matter who you sit with? If it was really busy in there, you might have had to share a table anyway? I'd explain this all to Gap and kick up a HUGE fuss if they still refuse to pay!

Thanks tractorgirl, that made me smile. I have replied to them and will await and see what happens. Can I send you round if they still refuse to pay? :T

Maybe I did it wrong, maybe I should just have said out loudly "I'm sorry, I can't sit with you I am currently doing a mystery shop!"

Does anyone know how mystery shopping affects JSA. I know what we get paid is gross and can deduct expenses for printing, mileage, etc., but how can you deduct the percentage off the phone bill, etc., if you need to submit your earnings each week to JSA. Has anyone done this before and what is the best way of doing it?
    Thanks
    Kat

I did this when I was on JSA. I took in all my payslips (and printed out accounts for people like RE who don't produce a payslip) and on the bottom I wrote - NECESSARY COSTS INCURRED IN DOING THIS WORK - Travel £x.xx, Printing costs £x.xx. ACTUAL PROFIT £y.yy

I never did find out what they did with this info, but they seemed to deduct about £30 from my JSA each week and I was satisfied I made more than that. (JSA staff were also terrified of me because they couldn't get their little heads around the information, which I freely shared with them, that although I MSed JCP offices I was not allowed to do my local one :D)
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

After seeing hardly any jobs for days there are 73 on my RE account this morning. The trouble is none of them are worth having:rolleyes:

I've missed all the restaurants again. Yesterday I very nearly got one but someone else nabbed it as I was answering the questions:mad:

I go through phases like that -feast or famine. Had issues this morning with the sports shop job as the assignment notes wouldn't load which made answering the questionaire -um challenging ;) However RE were very helpful. The speed they vanished I don't think the boycott suggestion worked btw !
I never seem to see the Stamp jobs and am wondering if they are not in my area (which is set very broadly)or if I need a higher rating (currently nearly 70)

  • It also says you cannot get a refund. Curiously it says if you do this will be reported and you won't be paid - which rather suggests that the staff will somehow know who the mystery shopper is???

Basically, these jobs are no good at all unless you would be buying something from there anyway. Not being familiar with the stock, I'm not prepared to risk it - having to buy something I probably won't want, and can't return!

On the sports shop jobs you can take the item back for a refund. I had to phone RE a few months back to confirm this. It is badly worded in the assignment notes. You can't take it back on the day of the assignment. Any time after is perfectly ok with RE. I have done it a few times now, never been docked points, never had my wrists slapped, and have not been sacked (unfortunately).

While I am here, and on the topic of said sports shop, one of the brands is spelt McK not Mack. Grrrr at RE for docking my points.
We could all learn a little something from the weather. It pays no attention to criticism.

Please can one of you guys or girls please explain how I join TERN? I have googled it and found the website and did the first part, they sent me an email with a link which just did not work. What am I meant to be doing? Thanks in advance.

PS. Is anyone else not seeing any visits at all on RE in their local area? I can't get any at all. HELP!

Are there usually fees for doing the hotel assignments at RE? The one near me has a good reimbursement, but no fee.

The last one I did had a small fee but you do get full reimbursement for food & lodging... I actually got an additional 10p last time as well!!!
