The Mystery Shopping thread - VII

The problem lies with the fact that the burger job is such a massive contract for them (probably the biggest) that they are just not willing to risk it by discussing the content of the jobs. If the customer wants to see a receipt as proof of the visit, the customer gets one. If the customer argues the times, they'll be trusted over the shopper.
Agreed, When I lived between Glasgow / Inverness I was doing excessive amounts of these jobs every month (My worst was 18 different sites, my body really wasn't happy with that!) and to be honest the sit in's were a joke for the exact reason of asking for a receipt - One time I actually saw them lift a different customers order off a tray which was being carried to a customer and placed in front of me to speed up service times, a few occasions I had staff clearing away my table for me and another when i had staff follow me intot he toilet to start cleaning - for pure spite I would them immediately go to the disabled toilet as well and mark them on it instead.
The Drive Thru were not so bad as the receipt was pretty automatic but I did have my details taken twice by staff standing outside the resturant to clock my car etc. I was called by Gap one day and they read out a description of myself, my clothes, my car and even my number plate. I did object to my details being used like that by resturant but it was after they had been given a bad report.
And it was funny and so obvious, every bad report for them was queried endlessly. I got to know a manager who worked in one of the places and the bonus system the company give the sites is very very strict. The reports we do can total up to 120% scores which is why the argue over a few seconds here and there on service times as its the service times which dictate the bonuses going past 100% scores ......
I did have 2 regular sites though which they knew who I was and the staff used to chat away quite the thing. They always did quite well anyway but for morning assignments I was always offered endless refills and extras by the managers!
But, did you know, and I never got to the bottom of this one, Gap actually have Auditors for this client as well. I spotted one when I did a job in Glasgow one day, they had a big pad, came in, introduced themselves to site manager, got a free meal then sat down observing the place and filling out the pad. As he was sitting on the table next to me I could see the pad and the headline on the page was the Gap Logo with ****** Site Audit. But no one could ever explain this to me, not even when I asked Gap what it was.
Much like the Petrol Station Audits for Gap as well, they were great for free coffee, cakes, biscuits etc once you got to know the managers at the places. One site used to even ask me when I went in for normal stuff when I was due in next because they didnt like the new auditor they had one month! I made quite a few friends from doing those across Scotland ....0 -
I'm with you jdan - I think these shops are farcical. The last one I did, (and the last one for this reason!) I had to pretty much run up the stairs when nobody was looking just so I could go to the toilet - I actually needed it too! When I got in there, I had Timmne Jnr in hand and in burst a manager who'd chased me up the stairs to ask if he could help!

:eek:I'm definately in two minds about this now.. I'm not sure I can cope with this much attention  I'd have to skip my local as well, I want to be able to show my face in there again0 -

The first time I did one of these jobs I was nervous about the attention but I just got used to it and now I find it funny. Last time was the worst it is my local and when I sat down to eat the staff kept talking to me saying "I haven’t seen you here in a while, how are you today" and all I wanted was for them to leave me alone to eat. The poor guy was hanging around me the whole time and moped the same area a million times. When I stood up he was there ready to pounce and take my tray then nearly fell over himself to open the door. I def think that this store has a photo of me. I do always like to ask for a receipt just to throw them off.

I always ask for a receipt in fast food places now - even when not MS'ing, it always gets the food to me quicker. In fact, once I asked for a receipt and when the food arrived in double quick time, I smiled at them and said "Works every time" and I think they realised I had pulled a swift one.0

JEEEEZUS!
There's over 40 of them!
Big money to be earned there if someone can spend a day doing them! rofl
Most of the reimbursements probably won't cover the purchases required, so you'll end up forking out quite a bit, although the fees would be quite good if you did the lot!!!0 -
Hi all, when doing assignments that mean you have to give your name and address should you give fake ones if you are doing the same group of companies (your name is stored on database so surely they will pick up if you are constantly asking to open an account the cancelling appointments?)
CheersXx0
