Working From Home ?

Hi all,
I'm signed off sick at the moment but going slightly mad from boredom. I'm too ill at the moment to go out to work but could cope with a job from home.
I have a degree in communications(marketing, advertising, pr etc) experience working in bar and cinema management.
Dont have a car so things involving deliveries are out. And not Party planning as don't have that many friends.
Any ideas? Or know of any legit sites with homeworking jobs not those pyramid scheme things though.
Thanks for any help

Signed off sick? meaning you are off work sick or just sick and unemployed?
If you ATTEMPT to do ANY WORK while in receipt of sick pay from your employer you could and should be sacked!
Also if you attempt to do ANY WORK whilst being paid Incapacity Benefit from the DWP then you are commiting FRAUD and could and should go to jail.0 -

For now to tide you over go to the benefits office and see if you are entitled to anything. If it's rightfully yours and you need it theres no reason why you shouldnt claim it. It's like cutting off your nose to spite your face.
Other than that have you thought about selling on ebay?2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -

I work from home selling kids books. I have two under fours, and they both came with me this morning to a book party, as they do to most events (assuming my husband is at work so can't watch them). Most of my work is done in playgroups, preschools, day nurseries and toddler groups as well as parties so my kids get to play for free whilst I work.
I too believe that they're my kids so I need to look after them. There are lots of things the same as I do but with other products - Usborne (books) Phoenix (greeting cards) Body Shop, Virgin Vie, Ann Summers, Avon ... then you get in to the realms of door to door leaflet drops like Betterware and Kleeneeze. It rather depends where your interests lie, because you're not going to be able to sell something you're not interested in, after all.
What about offering a service like ironing/typing? You could leaflet drop local homes/business and offer to quote them on work ...

What time does your OH get in? I used to have a job in a DIY store mon-fri 5-8pm or you could work a couple of evenings/weekends in the supermarkets. Other suggestions that have come up before are Avon and delivering weekly free newspaper. Are you getting all the tax credits you are entitled to www.entitledto.com0

I started by going round charity shops buying bargains which I thought would sell for more money. When I was paying off my debt ebay was getting like a full time job. But I only sell the odd thing now.loopylisa wrote:Hi ive been thinking of selling on ebay but wouldnt know what to sell so much to choose from!!2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040 -
I too ebay things but only to save me from having to carboot in the winter (plus I don't like early mornings).
Still, it's only ever little things - not sure I could cope with ebay full time. It must be quite frustrating to deal with people via email all the time!Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 002 :rotfl:0 -
Yes the customers on ebay make it very very frustrating. As well as that the queuing at the post office and hours every day packaging stuff up. Now I usually only sell things that we no longer need from the house.2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040
