    Good morning everyone!

Well its really quite a nasty day up here today - not great but the plants will get a good water! Got a load of washing hung out yesterday which is soo lovely to be able to do.

Also made my first attempt at Twinks Hobnobs yesterday morning and i am sooooo impressed! So easy to do and so yummy! I was so pleased with them that anyone who came within 50 yards of mny house was forced to try one! Thank you Twink!

So im on my own at work today - 2 of the girls are away on a course and the other is having ex-husband issues and needs to stay at home with the kids! Busy day but hopefully a quick day!

Have a wonderful day everyone! :j

DREAMYD- congrats on the baby news and :T :T about your blood pressure.
((((BETHEEBEE)))) so sorry to hear about DB1 and DB2, but good that DB1's count is holding steady. Fingers crossed it will be a long 'watch and wait' for him.

PENNY - you have a husband that irons??!!! Hand him over :D:D
WANNABE - has little bear ever been on a sandy beach and perhaps didn't like the feeling of it on his skin?
KE7285 - you will find that batch don't last long :rotfl: Hubby takes a whole batch with him to work and manages to ration them to last all week and offer people at work. Me? I eat a while batch to myself within two days.

((((hugs to anyone feeling unwell or hacked off))))
((((Good luck to everyone on the move)))

Well the potato bed is pretty much done. It's roughly dug over and I've put everything I can think of on there to help break up the clay soil. Shop bought and homemade compost, some sand, small gravel, old manured straw from the chickens coop and wood ash. It's in really poor shape again for the 3rd year running. Everything I put on there last year seems to have been swallowed and there's no sign of it

Tried an experimental breakfast with the steamer this morning: boiled eggs and bacon. Both were fine, although the bacon wasn't crispy of course and didn't colour up as it would do in the pan. Still lovely though :D

The washing is on, I've cleaned the stove, the cats and chickens are fed and roaming, but poorly hen is still very poorly and now not eating. I think it's a vet job.

I'm off for a steaming hot shower and then some light work tidying and seed sowing in the garden

  • Morning all,

Not feeling 100% today, a mixture of Monday blues and a few worries. Raining here today and a little chilly.

Salad for lunch and tea is egg on toast. Washing mountain to tackle and bathroom cleaning tonight.

Had a great weekend with OH at the rugby despite Scotland losing.

Hugs to all today, I wish I was back under the duvet....;)

  • Morning all,

First time posting here for a long time :o Life has kinda got away from me a bit in the last year but have decided is about time I got back on track so am sure I will be calling on all you lovely people for help over the coming weeks :D

Am not working at the moment, was made redundant in February and decided not to return to work as DS is off to school in Sept so figured would spend some time with him before that. Completed my degree last year and ended up straight back in the same job I had before I started studying - hated it so am working on writing which is something I have always wanted to do, currently writing my first attempt at a novel - is going very slowly (200 words a day at the moment) but I figure is baby steps right now, you never know til you try, right? :p

Anyways, housework has really got on top of me, DS and I have spent loads of time playing, cooking, drawing, reading etc.... not much time cleaning though.

Task for today is to make kitchen and front room look presentable which, looking round is going to be a mammoth task :rotfl:

Hope everyone has a great day :A

Third load of washing is in the machine and DH has hung the other two loads on the line outside.

Just about to cook a brunch in the Remoska for DH, DD and myself and have leftover lunch from yesterday that we can have for tea.

Will make a cheesy pasta home made thingy for our youngest as she turns her nose up at roast pork.

Oldest DD is complaining her curtains let in the light so will see if we have any hidden away that are thick enough. If not will have to go to York and trudge round looking for blackout ones.

Anybody know any mail order places that would do them?

Have ordered DD(15) a York notes on the play she is studying to see if it helps cut down the hours her coursework takes- she took two whole days on one piece of work and got really stressed. I ordered a book for myself as well - sshhh!!!!;)

Need to start cooking so see you later

    Hugs to all

Bargainbird - yes, Yeadon Leeds. Emsleys Farm, it was really good! If you are nearI recommend it. The animals look really well kept and the activity centre was lovely and clean. £3 for little ones over 2, adults free but they sold tea, coffee etc...

Can you freeze baked potatoes, and do they taste nice if you do? Dear heart loves his baked potatoes, but I can't seem to keep potatoes in my kitchen for more than a few hours without them sprouting and turning green.

Little bear is (almost) napping. Poor child is doing a very respectable imitation of a neglected child in the last stages of exhaustion.

Evil cat has been playing in the garden, it is finally the appropriate weather. However this means the battle of the flies recommences, and I shall have to break out heavy duty citronella. Apparently there is a cat food dish that has a motion sensor, so that it stays shut, keeping out flies, unless a cat approaches and then it opens. I am so tempted to waste the money on this, just to see evil cat's expression. She has not yet run away from her food dish, but that sort of thing may be what makes the difference.

    Hugs to all.
