Need to find a cheap prom dress for daughter, help!

I sold all my old dresses on ebay, and only one of them went for over 20. Most were 10-15, and that was at the height of prom dress season.
Edit: I saw this, and remembered that there was a girl at my leavers' ball who had one like it, and looked stunning. She stood out a lot, and it doesn't need any accessories but shoes.

It's also worth checking out the vintage clothes section on Ebay - I've got a couple of dresses on it for charity balls, the last one was a black velvet sheath with chiffon sleeves, looked as good as anything else there - and better than a lot that had certainly cost a lot more than the £15 I paid.. ! Get detailed measurements, though, as vintage sizes are different from present day ones, and make sure that the garment is in perfect condition. If your daughter likes a particular era, you can search on that - eg 1950s.

I'm sure I'm a lot older than your dd but I've got my uni formal in May, I went in to a Monsoon Clearance last week and managed to get a gorgeous red dress reduced from £75 to £22.50. Might be an idea to go and look in there.Norn Iron Club member 273:beer:0

as other people have said, I would suggest having a look in places like Monsoon, Debenhams, John Lewis etc when they have a sale on. My prom dress was actually a bridesmaids dress, so you could try bridal shops, but they might not be so cheap.0

Primark have got some nice prom dresses atm.0

Why not try bridesmaid dresses on ebay - there is loads to choose from and they usually say also suitable for proms.0

Don't want to hijack the thread but thought this may be relevant to the OP, Has anyone bought a dress from the chinese companies that advertise on ebay, they seem to be very very cheap and you send them all your measurements. They look stunning in the picture, but too cheap and as I'm always thinking if it looks to good to be true........... So anyone bought one?2009 wins: Cadburys Chocolate Pack x 6, Sally Hansen Hand cream, Ipod nano! mothers day meal at Toby Carvery! :j :j :j :j0

I was walking past a charity shop on Friday and they had a beautiful monsoon prom dress in the window for £10 - It was gorgeous. Someone was buying it I think as when I went past 10 mins later it was gone. You could probably get a bargain on ebay or in a charity shop if you don't mind second hand. Monsoon usually has a good sale on too with lots of dresses half price but not sure when the next one is.0

What height is your daughter? I have a Morgan & Co prom dress which is black and red. It's a size 10/12 and is floor length. I've only ever worn it once so it's as good as new. When I wore it everyone commented on how lovely it looked. Hopefully the links below will work. Send me a private message if you are interested at all.
