Just thought I should shame you lot in to doing something for your country. In a selfless and humble act, I today went out and purchased a Playstation 3, three games to play on it and a brand new HD 32" LCD TV. Mrs Cleaver did her bit for the economy by treating her self to three (yes, you read correct, three) pairs of shoes.
We got up this morning and after many years of being sensible, practical and careful with money we went mental and made some stupid purchases. I haven't had a games console since I was about 14 and our TV was my parents old one, was about 9" acorss and weighed the same as Jeff Capes after a big meal.
It's now as if our lounge has been converted in to some futuristic, virtual reality world. I bought a football game with the PS3 and I have no idea, and I mean no clue at all, how the commentators seem to know how much is going on. I'm half expecting them to start talking to me. I've connected it to my wireless "no idea how the f*ck this works" box and have been racing cars with my mate who lives miles away. Fan-bloody-tastic. I was playing one very realisic game earlier and, like some old fashioned luddite, Mrs Cleaver was convinced I was controlling the people on the TV.
But back to the main point, which is that I'm doing something for my country. I'm spending us out of trouble. If everybody just did what we did today the economy would be back up and running pretty sharpish. Selfish b*stards, the lot of you.
Your country needs you.
You should've given your money to "help the blind" or something worthwhile.
Enjoy you playstation, Im sure the country will thank you for it.
It made no difference what so ever.0 -
You`ve never had a games console since you were 14? Are you flattering yourself - they weren`t even invented then!0

Late night confession.
I went to Asda. OMG.
I bought some cruddy, processed muck and a Cotes du Rhone wine box (I have class).
Went up the walkaltor (or whatever they are called) just to check out the mainstream for work reasons.......had just been for a swim in a dead grotty swimsuit which does not do the honed bod justice....
....and bought a slave labour swimsuit for £12...and a slave labour dotty/striped bikini for £10...and extra slave labour tees for OH (they were smartprice so deffo Bangladeshi's worst)......and I feel dead guilty.
On the upside, just going into production 4000 asst units of very useful. lifesaving items, all made in a freindly, non slave labour English factory.0 -
It will keep Dockers employed, Shipping companys, Shipping agents, Fuel surpliers, Hauliers, Freight operating company's need I go on.I fail to see how buying foreign goods is supposed to help this country?
The more that is imported has a great knock on effect to this country, as if Imports increase so does the exporting of Mty containers.
Hey I think i am sounding more like Generali every day.0 -
