My OH got a really nice suit from Matalan for £30, and then a shirt and tie from Pirmark which cost £2.50 for the set!
YOu don't have to spend loads to get a decent suit these days! surely he can afford to pay that himself! Now a married lady and loving it! Now..to clear that pesky mortgage! :beer:0 -
get the suit from matalan, then when your round his house, nip into his wardrobe and snip the label out of a t shirt and trousers.
then sew the label into the cheap suit. He'll never know the difference.

Tell him to turn up in his jeans, t-shirt and trainers - you love him for himself not for the rags on his back and that's why you've invited him..................
....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)0 -

Tell him you are not buying an outfit for him. No discussion, no compromise. He's adult he will have to find something to wear, branded or not.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Tell him he can wear that. He'll manage to find the pennies for a shirt and smart trousers then, cos he'll look like a prat at a wedding in jeans and trainers while everyone else is in shirts and shoes!ladypinkof66 wrote: »he doesnt to be honest have any clothes apart from designer Jeans T shirts and trainers0 -
I think as long as you're not dictating what you want him to wear to the day, then he should sort himself what to wear. If he were attending a friends wedding (and not involved as best man etc), he wouldn't expected them to pay for his outfit. This isn't any different.Love MSE, Las Vegas and chocolate!0

Maybe he would?
Especially if he's the type to use a mortgage payment holiday as payment for a holiday.....
I suggest putting your foot down with a firm hand and (to quote Grange Hill!) ....... Just Say "No".
Or would your DF's parents be able to tell him to toe the line (in his swanky trainers
)? 0 -
One word for him; Joker.
I cant believe the cheek of someone even asking that!:j :jTotally and utterly debt free as of 27/05/09!!!:j :j0 -
I'd be fuming! I can't even comprehend someone saying that to me and if they did they'd be swifty told were to go! If he doesn't like it then leave it with him! I wouldn't spend another moment worrying about a prat like him!
Finally decided to start growing up when it comes to money!:j
