  • Most of the so called 'good' reviews online are about how easy it is to get the cover which is just an internet click so that does not relate to the actual service. In all of them, people admit they never had to use the service! The only ones who you do refer to how bad and misleading this company is. I had to call them after a breakdown with my small child in the car. Well devil is in the details:
    1) It took about 30 minutes for my call to be answered
    2) I was told it would cost 40 pounds every time my car needs to be recovered (excess charge)
    3) Although there is a 14 days cooling off period, apparently there is an admin fee to cancel your policy for that, the amount of which could be disclosed because "someone else deals with this"
    4) If you use their service during that cooling off period, you loose the right to that refund and have to pay 40 pounds (so the whole thing costs you 80 for just one rescue, after which you pay 40 pounds every time!)
    5) The person answering the phone was particularly unfriendly which is the last thing you want when you are already distressed because your car has broken down

Don't get fooled by the cheap yearly rate - this is a rip off where you get bad customer service

I have been with these guys for a number of years simply because they are the cheapest. I have had cause to use them on a few occasions and I have never had a problem with them.

I have never experienced a long wait to get through on the phone.

I get national recovery which means that they will take me and my car home/to a garage near home. This level of cover from AA/RAC is significantly more expensive (or it was the last time I looked).

They do not have a fleet of vehicles like the AA, they have a network of local garages/recovery companies who they contact.

I have never had the car fixed by the side of the road but I do not have a problem with this. Realistically the chances of ANY breakdown provider being able to fix your car at the side of the road is pretty slim if you take a moment to think about it. They might have a van full of tools but they cant carry all of the possible parts your car might need. If you break down on the way home from work, guess what, the people who work for Andrew Page or whoever else they get the parts from is also on their way home.

Where else is a lorry supposed to leave a car other than on the side of a road? Do you think lorry drivers are all closet sex offenders or something?

Hi can anyone try to help please? My daughters been with this company 3 years, never had to call them out until Tuesday this week when her tyre blew.
I accept we'd to pay the £40 charge as that's what we signed up for, however, they charged £75 due to the fact her car tax ran out on Sunday ( no reminder sent by dvla, that's another issue!)
So whilst she's waiting for the breakdown I tax her car online. So that's done, but WHY does her having no tax increase the call out fee by £35? They seem reluctant to explain and I can't see it anywhere in the terms and conditions.
£75 could pay for a years or more breakdown with Rac or AA,

Not sure why they charge extra for no tax but I believe the AA won't fix your car at the roadside if you have no tax either.
