    I'm well DS is in bed and DD is playing with wooden bricks, which is giving me 5 mins to catch up. My DS 4 years generally comes up trumps when I'm ill by being caring and giving me a big hug just when I need it, it often makes all the differnce between my crying in the corner to finding I can cope and continue with life. If only he new the power he had.

    Joe being a loving and caring child is down to you and all the work and energy you put into him.

    On the positive front for today, by working later you will have increased your income.

    Its amazing when your feeling rough how something as little as a pillow being given to you can make you feel 10 times better.

    An extra hour at work is worth £9.60 to me before tax so its ok money - paid for the 2 drinks i bought last night! Really shouldnt drink on an empty tum, it goes straight to my head! Still it was nice to be an adult for an hour and i had a good chat with my dad last night too. Even though i work with him all day :rotfl:

    Early start for me, shame i cant feel this good waking up at this time on a weekday, lol.

    I didnt get alot done yesterday to be honest. I was so tired yesterday, a drive to Oxford and back really took it out of me on Friday and then we had a late night at dads, i needed the quiet day yesterday. Ashamed to say i was in bed at 8 yesterday! Still the sleep has done me good. Ive got some work for work to do still and still i have no phone for ebay. But i did make gnochi for the first time and we both love it so theres now some in the freezer as the recipe made loads. And i made a apple and raspberry pie which was sooo good.

    So my little list for today,

    * Washing up
    * Cat tray
    * Washing - loads as always
    * Dust and hover living room
    * Once over in the bathroom
    * Do something fun!
    * Joes reading book for school and 1/2 hr of workbooks

    Going to have a cup of coffee and get started!

    i used this recipe after reading about it in the old style boards

    http://italianfood.about.com/od/gnocchi/a/aa010298.htm

    We just had them for lunch with some wilted spinach, melted butter, black pepper and the last of the parmesan cheese.

    I read on another thread that someone put them in stew, sounds like they would be a really nice. Something different to dumplings or potatoes.

    I did steam the pots too, as this was the first time of making them i dont know the difference between boiling them. And i think i used plain flour, yep, i did.

    When i made them i didnt bother using a cheese grater, just dipped a fork in the flour and got Joe to press the tops gently. I open froze the leftovers and then sprinkled a little more flour over and bagged up, they were still pretty seperate.
    When we have those i will just put them in frozen rather than waiting on them to defrost.

    I shamefuly cant find the thread i was reading on here the other day!

    Well we are back from Battersea Park, and im now addicted to farmville on facebook for some strange reason.

    Just had the last of the veggie sausages from the freezer with a few chips and beans for lunch. Will need to make the veggie sausages/burgers again as Joe loves them and im sure they are heathier and cheaper than meat ones. Plus there made of of store cupboard ingredients.

    Need to make something for dinner, the stocks are really low now, but at least we try new things like the gnocchi! Which we really liked. We had it plainish but im looking forward to trying some in a stew soon (the stew weather will be here soon im sure)

    Also need to do some bits for Joes lunches, thinking flapjacks as we have plently of oats, or twinks hobnobs, will let Joe decide. Also going to put a loaf on but am going to have to do half and half of bread and plain flour as i have no more left!

    Also going to log on later to sort the big shop i need to do and stock up a bit on a few bits.

    Really should stop messing around on the computer!

    Stew season started last night for us. Getting cold and dark so stew and dumplings went down a treat. I made SB a sponge cake as well so a happy camper.

    Been playing Monoploy this afternoon. Long debate on rules first, one of them is going to whip out a pre-family-games contract soon.

    Glad you had such a good day with Joe.

    So full of veggie curry I now need to lie down!

    Pay Week!

    Looking forward to Wednesday now. Fed up of eating from the store cupboard. Even if it is amazing what you make when you need too. Had a stew type thing last night made from one beef pie base, 1/2 baked beans, frozen veg and gnocchi. It was really quite nice!

    Desperatly need to get Joes haircut and a new winter jacket. Plus more school shoes! The ones i bought at the beginning of August are already getting too tight. Not impressed, but hey ho, i cant stop him growing. He is already so tall!

    Will post budget for next month up when i get home tonight. Also going to buy a cheap phone from Argos for £6 on Weds so i can start ebaying at long last! Cant seem to beg or borrow one! So will have too now.

    Im also going to need a winter coat as i dont have anything really. And i need work clothes, the list just goes on. Going to double check what Joe and i already have and make a list of whats needed tonight me thinks.

    Best get back to the real world now!
