PS Also collecting the sun vouchers, not sure if they are worth it but had a look online at some of the parks and the some in Dorset look lovely. Was thinking it would be a nice cheap break in November half term? Going to collect them this week as the guy at work buys it anyway, think i need 10 in total. Even if we didnt like the park im sure we could just use it like a base camp. I think its £40 for both of us - £15 per person, min of 4 and £6 a night service charge - max of 5 days so £70 for a short break, doesnt sound that bad to me, plus if i put my dad and his GF names down they could always pop down for a day or 2 if they wanted. Of course this doesnt include the travel there, or any spends but what do you think, worth it?0

No time, just a quick post, meeting this morning was excellent!!! EP was great, will update tonight when i get home. Feeling so much better about the whole thing now!!!0

Couldn’t wait until this evening, lol.
The meeting was good. It’s confirmed that Joe does not have anything what so ever wrong, no ADHD, ODD, aspergers. Everyone can now agree that Joe simply chooses when to behave and when not too.
At the beginning of the meeting the head, teacher, SENCO and behaviour outreach kind of ganged up on me or thats what it felt like anyway, lol.
Told me that Joes tutor makes no difference to Joe’s behaviour – I beg to differ here. Also that the camps, like PGL and beavers were making no difference, again I don’t agree.
I told them that im not going to stop the tutor as IT IS helping with Joes English and phonics. I also told them that camps such as Beavers or PGL do help Joe as I have seem him mature and learn from going to these. I feel that Joe now just needs to mature now and have consequences at school for school behaviour. I also found out that last week Joe was throwing chairs again – something I was not told – AGAIN!
At the end of the meeting the EP spoke and said that im doing very well with Joe and with no offence to the school that he needs to move. She has also said it is very interesting that Joe has not learnt that his behaviour is not acceptable, esp. as it is now been going on over 3 years. She said this is down to not being consistent with Joe while he is at school.
She also went on to say that she has seen Joe and I out and about and in Tescos and that Joe is a NORMAL happy boy – my eye sight is so bad even with glasses I wouldn’t of seen her.
She also agreed with me about the tutor and camps and im doing well by keeping this up!
I also found out that Joe is now behind with maths as well – so im going to get the tutor to tell me where he should be at so I can help Joe at home, I don’t have the extra money for a tutor, but maths is something I can do myself.
The EP is going to work with me next year when Joe is in juniors, weather he is in the same school or not.
This is the first time ever Ive walked out of a meeting and cried. I only cried because it felt so nice to have someone on MY side. I know I have my dad and others that support me, but this was someone within the school / council. It’s taken so long to get here, but at least I know that is purely behavioural. Joe will learn and I can find a way to help him somehow.
I can’t believe how good this has made me feel, someone was on my side and realised I was telling the truth about Joe when he is at home. FINALLY.
The school are not very happy though as they won’t be getting any more money for Joe, they wanted him to have a statement for more funding. The EP has told them that Joe doesn’t have a learning disability so wont be able to get it. She told them to just be consistent with Joe’s discipline.THIS IS THE START OF MOVING ON AND SORTING JOE OUT.IM SO HAPPY0 -
Keep the faith AB. You're being consistent the thing that Joe needs most. Imagine how confusing it would be to him if he's allowed to create chaos at school with no comeback and when he does the same at home he's grounded.
From what you've said on here it's the so called professionals who need to look at what they're doing not you. Joe has a stable home life, the status of his father is only relevant if it impacts on you both and for what you've said it doesn't. Joe knows what he needs to know, it doesn't change, he doesn't witness anything untoward, end of story.
If you didn't pay attention or care then you need help parenting and funnily enough you'd be one of the statistics that Social Work, Teachers, Police etc love to wave around...single mums who's kids are out of control AND they don't care. You're different, you're smart, you work, you're building a home and future - DO NOT let these people who are looking for an easy target make you the problem. Joe has some issues, you're trying you're hardest to work with them to help him overcome these issues while he's a little boy not when's he's a teenager and it's too late.
Be very proud of yourself and keep going...you will meet someone at somepoint who understands and starts to support you...but they are few and far between. For most stereotyping and finger pointing is just a much easier, lazier option.
Try and have some fun this weekend. That's an order!!
Hey kissjenn,

Ang!!!
That is fantastic news about the EP backing you up!!!
I'm soooo pleased for you!!
I hope that the school takes on board what has been said and discusses it's discipline procedures with it's teachers, as THEY are the ones who have failed Joe.
Congrats!!!0 -

Morning All,
Not spent anything except my train fare. Really wanted a coffee but made do with my water until i got to work. I forgot my lunch though and im bloody starving! I really need to get into the habit of eating breakfast with Joe. I make him eat it so i should really.
Got my 4th sun token and downloaded the bonus one from the web, i only need another 5 now. Some of the sites in Dorset look lovely, even if we would be going in October HT (hopefully).
Joe had a good day yesterday, i spoke to him about the meeting and how alot of the support he gets like the behavour outreach lady has stopped now. He seems to understand. I hope. He has beavers tonight, so i know hes excited today, hes hoping to get his airoplane and it badge.
I best get on with some work, roll on lunch time!0 -
Morning / Afternoon,
Joe was okish yesterday, he had beavers and had fun. He sleeps so well on Wednesdays, and eats bundles on Thursday mornings, lol.
No spends today, Joes ants have arrived at work, i now thinks its offical, they really think im nuts! The things are still in there box but im so itchy just looking at the daft things!
Kitchen and Living room still look like they did on Sunday, which is good! Hovered and washed down all the sides last night before bed. Been doing at least one load of washing a day, Joes going through loads of clothes as he has been out playing after school.
Joes loving his pasta salads this week, so far hes had tuna, sausage, chicken and sausage and cheese! Hes been making his own up the night before.0 -
