  • hmm i can honestly say that being an A+L mortgage customer had no probs at all just a straight swop and then set up my new account to accomadate the mortgage.just have to go to my own c/acc with tsb and set up a standing order for the monthly mortgage transfer.one point of note was that the girl in the branch wasnt clued up at all about this, and i had to explain the scenario to her re mort.then she asked if i wanted to see a mort advisor.emmm too late me thinks [prob try to flog some sort of card/ins]just away to post docs, oh they do a credit check.

I would have thought they would do a credit very early on , because imagine paying the £470 , they then do a credit check and you fail ,

    £470 gone !!!!!

I had a credit check over the phone when i moved to FD a year or so ago !!
  • Managed to get through to them, and all (apparently) set up! They only charged me £340 for the valuation, so I assume my house must be cheaper than yours Paul! :) Thanks OP!

ah so a valuation charge is according to the house value, is it ?
  • Well, I assume so! Or number of bedrooms maybe? Don't see why else they'd charge you more than me...

Been lurking on this board the past few months watching the deals - currently have a fixed rate deal comming to an end in June (4.49%)
Just one question regarding this deal......does anybody know if you can overpay without penalty (currently can overpay upto £500 without penalty)

Was initially planning on going to an SVR or variable rate deal however this offer is very very appealing (even if you have to open a premier account)

    Hi,

I applied last night and I asked about overpaying. I was told I could overpay up to £499 per month as well as a lump sum in January of each year up to a max of 10% of the outstanding balance. Then ERC kicks in I think.

    Hope that helps.

You can overpay up to £499 penalty free per month and then 10% of outstanding value every January. And it's either up to £499 or 10% in January-not both.
I asked how can arrange overpayment and was told that simple phonecall will do and they will add extra to your Direct Debit so only one payment would come out. There might be other ways to make extra payment but this one is most appealing to me. And you can call them and cancel this arrangement at any time as well. So if you decide to overpay 10% in January instead of £499 you would have to call and let them know in advance.

Edit: slow typing- see reply above.

    Hiya
Think I must have had a YTS (that shows my age!!) when I phoned up...I was told we could only repay 10% of the mortgage value in January with no monthly overpayments.
