Awww thanks Tea :A
Actually I think it's quite rubbish
I have spent so much money on stuff I dont need eg £200 on tree surgery  !!!!!! was I thinking :mad:
Anyway, no point in self recrimination now ... I'm saving that for the big annual confession in September - mmm cant wait for that . I seem to remember that doing a huge annual add up of ridiculous expenditure is what spurred me on for at least 8 months last year.
Today I have completely & utterly outdone myself & spent £88 in Tatco . However, this includes a weeks shopping for both little DD & myself & a months shopping for DD1
.
She arrived here in a right strop as !!!!!! lloyds had made the sneaky decision to take her loan repayment 3 days early  in spite of telling her over the phone that her account was now 'in collections' & the loan payment plan had been cancelled
. This cunning move left her £200 short for the month
. She hadnt yet sent off the CCCS letter to them & i beleive that they were actually entitled to take out the loan payment as technically they were re presenting last months which had failed. It still stinks though & this sort of behaviour & changing of direct debit dates has certainly led her to be in her current situation of £200 a month bank charges.
Sadly & like so many others she was too embarassed & worn down with the stress of it all to kick up a fuss at the counter & cause a scene. Had I been there I can assure you there would have been a scene & I would have loudly requested that both mine & little DDs savings accounts were closed forthwith due to the banks morally reprehensible lending policies & all monies therein returned to me immediately. I am still debating whether it would be more irksome to lloyds to have to keep on servicing our accounts, reduce them to a balance of £1 each or close them altogether .
I still cant get over the fact that they gave DD1 a CC with a £5,000 limit at 39% apr & when she couldnt pay & turned it into a loan , then gave her a £1,200 overdraft on top. If that isnt irresponsible lending then I cant imagine what is
.
Scrambling off the soap box
... I had a call from a man from The utility warehouse today. I entered a competition to win a mini & he's coming round to see me on monday but assures me that he doesnt do hard sell, just wants to save me money. I have no intention of signing up & have already checked out their prices online, their cheapest mobile package comes in at £10 a month more than mine for the equivalent deal .
I must now find out my gas & elec bill before he arrives ... I've signed up to get ebills & entered my meter readings online & when I'm really bored I must then work out how much my bill will be. Cant beleive I still havent had it although now I do vaguely recall the meter changing man saying that it could be about 6 months before I got one. Too long, I need it NOW.
Back to the shopping; beweeen us DD1 & I got quite a lot of good deals by sharing bogofs etc & she may well be a better bargain hunter than me & certainly got more for her money than I did although I do have to cater for little DD as well. I got DDs wellies & also got washing powder for £2 off & £1 off fabric softener so well stocked up there for while. I'll happily live without food, ,but couldnt bear not being able to do washing.
The 0 % card is fast approaching it's limit & I can almost see me having to cancel that dental appointment until after the hol
.
Right, I must now work out my fuel bills .... yawn zzzzzz
bye for now

Yet again I have managed to get completely sidetracked by just about anything & everything.
I have now paid for both the gas & electricity bills - £150.93 so very relieved. I now need to increase the amount that I save each week in order to prepare for the rise in the heating costs over the nest 3 months. I was pleased that by paying the bill so promptly I've earned a £3.50 disccount off my next bill
.
I am not so pleased that I've been so off the ball in the last 2 weeks that my eating & hence weight has gone up again & also that my spending is close to getting out of control . Today, rather than clean the house or continue the decorating I decided to pop into town & buy new jeans for me, new jeans for DD, new top for me & new top for DD .
I really need to get a grip & seem to have lost my way a bit ... if anyone can point me in the right direction I would be very grateful ...

I can point you in the right direction Lula. Pootle up the A1 until you hit Birmingham and then follow the signs for the A5. You'll be at my door in no time. I still have 12 clasromms and several miles of corridor to clean. You'll lose lots of weight rather quickly and you won't feel like eating because the machinary in question gives you stomach cramps if you chow anything bigger than a chocolate bar. Plus theres a giant bouncy castle and an enormous ball pool in the main hall for use during coffee breaks although I'm not particulalrly convinced thats exactly what the boss meant when he said you know how to use it don't you. Yes siree bob. You plug it in, drink a mug of coffee whilst it gets big and hard and then you bounce lots.
Still the fact that you're under 5K with everything else thats going on is remarkable really. You deserve the new clothes.......hope they go nicely with the new handbag and colour co-ordinated shoes (of which I'm not in the slightest bit jealous).
I'm anticipating this months total debt to have increased thanks to OHs recent purchase of a new engine, gearbox and assorted bits for the heap of metal on the drive. Throw in the night vision monocular and that all adds up to the start of a very expensive midlife crisis. Fortunately hes seen the error of his ways and has pretty much moved into work to cover it on overtime. Lucky !!!!!! is off to Sweeden on a two day jolly all on overtime too.
Menwhile I have to wave a magic wand around and work some mini miracles. Woke up this morning to a very large card propped up against the computer screen. Turns out today is our 10th wedding anniversary which I hadn't forgotten quite so much as overlooked. He got a posh watch light years ago at the beginning of June as an early gift but he'll still be super duper miffed if he doesn't get a card ....heres hoping I've got one lurking somewhere upstairs that I can get away with.Saving for a Spinning Wheel and other random splurges : £183.500 -
Thanks Moo,
still sniggering at the big, hard & bouncing bit
Happy Anniversary , wow 10 years ... 5 years is long term for me

Just catching up Lula - things have moved on apace since I last visited.
I had an unexpected visitor on Wednesday - it was raining and the drive to London from Bolton must have been too tiring as he stopped at mine, at least I got taken out to dinner but to be honest I would have preferred being taken to Lidl so that I could use one of the vouchers from the daily express which expires on 3rd August and I can't get near a Lidl now
I face yet more expense because I need another pair of glasses and that was confirmed yesterday at the moment I am not safe to drive which is why I havent driven anywhere
and I don't particularly fancy going to Mr T's and then wrestling a 16 roll pack of loo rolls onto the bus:eek: Visitor rang me this morning to say that he has a visit to do in Halesowen so he can some and stay at mine (I will wear passion killing jimjams just in case he gets any funny ideas:eek:) and that way I can earn £21.50 which is his allowance from work for staying with a friend and he can take me shopping as he suddenly realised today that I havent been shopping for weeks hence the reason for his call this morning:rolleyes: It will also be another opportunity to go out for dinner:rotfl:
Hope your veggie on your allotment are doing ok?0 -

Hi Lula
I know how you feel, I have been rubbish at anything food or DFW wise lately  I know that doesn't help but you have my support
Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Lula - its hard trying to be a DFW, I forked out for a course today on a trusty piece of plastic and will reclaim it from the business - this offsetting against tax malarky is great fun:rotfl:
Try not to beat yourself up you are doing well and at least you dont have to buy veggies as your allotment has oodles of them I bet:D0 -

Thanks sweetie :A ...
feeling better already just knowing I'm not alone ... I think the saying is 'there's safety in numbers' or something like that :rotfl:0 -
evening all,
before I step any further i have to warn you that there has been wine in my glass tonight so whatever I say will probably not make sense to anyone other than myself at this precise moment in time.
Moo - hope you're still bouncing away
Horace, - well done for getting money out of a man for an overnighter & still maintaining your virtue :A . As regards the allotment ....
it has rather fallen by the wayside what with fishing & decorating but it's on my to do list
Well, it's been all fun here in Lulaville  friday was manic - took DD to play camp, went to meet friend for coffee & told her all about fishing- she was suitably horrified & very releived that she doesnt have to do this. she laso mentioned that perhaps xbf wasnt such a bad optioin after all, hmmmmm.
DD went off to Brownie camp having succesfully foiled my attempt to use her bedroom to put all the furniture in . The floor is no longer visible in there . I stocked up with 3 bottles of wine to get the job done & got on with it. 3 days later & I am delighted. The floorboards are gleaming, the rugs look great & I took the DFW option of revamping the sofa by dyeing an old throw. I've also painted a picture frame & removed the extra shelving fomr the pc table thereby disabling me from cluttering it up with paper, cups, wine glasses etc .
I've reduced the amount of files that my paperwork lives in & plan to halve that again. I also discvered that 2 of th wires that were hanging out of the back of the pc have absolutely no function whatsoever
. i'm alwasy scared to thrw stuff like that out but have 'filed' them. I also have a keyboard & old phone to take to the recycling bit at the tip along with 2 empty paint tins.
I plan to launch an assualt on the local Posh-Town charity shops this week to hunt for bargainous picture frames & decorative colour co ordinated pieces to pretty the place up.
I was meant to be going out with a friend on saturday night but she cancelled having had a better offer so I should be taking those jeans back ... I did get to wear the fabulous red shoes - if only to the diy store - & wow are they effective. I went with a male & he assured me that everyone was staring - probably the bizarre combination of said shoes, co ordinating bag & then ripped jeans with paint splattered hair & t shirt
I took a couple of light shades to the till but then returned them to the shelf when it turned out they werent half price . I wanted to paper the recesses either side of chimney breast but the cost is prohibitive so my cunning plan is to visit the shop a few times to get a 'sample' of the paper I want & then put it into a revamped picture frame for similar effect.
Really struggling with the window coverings at the moment. They are such an odd & asymmetrical shape so really need blinds but all I've seen so far are very expensive
.
Havent made any payments to CCs this week but will have to do some next week. Had to pay the window cleaner £6 today but he his quite aesthetically pleasing so I dont mind too much
. I've gathered a few £2 coins as well but not sure what to do with them. I might use them for clothes allowance next year, this year's is scarily close to the limit _pale_.
Only 2 weeks until holiday & no prizes for guessig that I havent lost that stone I wanted to . I blame it all on the fishing & resolve to not do that again in a hurry. Today I have done more chores than in the last 3 weeks together
.
Really really tired so must head to bed now
G'night
Lula
