    Hi Lula

I'm really pleased you are on the way to getting something resolved for DD1 - hope you're feeling better about it all :D

    Hi Shoe Gal,

yes, thanks I am feeling much happier & so is she. I have felt so much happier that there have been some incidents I need to confess to ... just not sure where. Perhaps on another board altogether so that no one will be able to see :rotfl:

I did go to town to collect my contact lenses :D. I also manged to get DD some casual shoes very cheaply as planned  ; 1 pair of Roxy shoes that will be fab for hol. Also a pair of Roxy canvas boots that she loves as apparently her new fave singer La Roux wears them & you'll be delighted to hear that she said " I love them so much, I even love them more than Drake - boy in her class that she's had a crush on for the last 2 years - ":rotfl:what a wise girl she's turning out to be. No pair of shoes will ever break your heart or lie to you.

Apart from the bargainous shoes ( £ 20.98 :)) I also got her a new Roxy school bag for £12.99 . Now this may seem a bit early considering it's only day 2 of the summer hols but there is a reason ... it was basically a bit of bribery :o.

Bless her, she did try her very best to stop me, but the evil wicked temptress that I am, I completely & utterly schmoozed her & I should be very ashamed & no doubt when the exhilaration wears off I will ... dont hold your breath though :p:D

Off over to hang out with the single & fabulous now ...

    lula

    Morning all,

Have woken up all fired up with enthusisasm today :j... I knew those red shoes would be life changing :D

The washing is on & the Robins have gone so I can retrieve my painting equipment & get on with stage 2 of the floor - sanding down & undercoating ( or emulsionsing in my case as it's cheaper ;)) & then glossing one half of the room. Have decided easier to do it like that so will then have somewhere to put furniturre.

    Right, gotta get on ....

I feel great tonight :j... it may be the coffee, but I think it's more to do with actually getting on with improving our home environment & having some idea of what I want to achieve over the next couple of years.

I really have felt that my life had ground to halt for a couple of years & have tried out many new paths in an attempt to find out what needs to be changed or what the missing 'thing' is .

I can now conclude that I dont want a new job at the moment, this one suits me while DD still at junior school & as long as the wages stay the same I can manage to repay debts at a reasonable rate .

I do want to clear the debts but am no longer in a mad keen rush to do so. I need to live & make certain changes that will cost money. I admire those who do live very frugal lives in order to clear their debts asap but I can only do so in short bursts. It is not a way of living that I can happily sustain for long periods of time & I am not going to feel bad about that :p.

I do not want a full time partner in my life at the moment. My brief foray into the world of fishing has shown me how very independent & busy I am & how easily exasperated I would become with someone who is needy or less capable & independent that myself. My family commitments are not that often but still fairly regular & much as I love them I do find them quite draining at times so need time to myself in order to 'recover' :o.

The area of my life that bothers me more than anything is our home environment. I still love my 'new' kitchen & get a lot of pleasure from how it works & looks & feels. Ok, we all know I dont do a lot of real cooking in it but you know what I mean. I have felt ashamed of having new people visit as the place is so shabby & cluttered & this is affecting my social life as well as my karma & energy .

Since DD1 left home 2 years ago I havent really done anything to the place to make it into a home for DD & myself. I now feel it's time to do that & that I finally have the energy to see the project through to completion. It was either DD1 or after her, xbf trying to impose their ideas which just made me feel resentful. I'm the one who pays the rent & bills & yet how I wanted the place to look & feel didnt seem to matter :(

It's my home & will remain so for the forseeable future even after/if DD moves on in a few years so I shall be organising, decorating & furnishing it to please me ( other than DDs room which at present would appear to be inhabited by a troupe of very very untidy monkeys but I'm sure she would prefer to be a comfortable place for her to hang out with her friends ).

That's the plan. Until my home & it's energy is 'sorted' then nothing else will be so best I concentrate on that, alongside the inevitable debt repayment of course :D

    Good night

    xx

    Hey Lula

    That's a great plan.

I think home environment is so important. It should feel like a sanctuary and be a lovely place that suits it's 'owner'.

My mum (who is very sensible and not really into anything mystical or hooey) is actually a bit of believer in Feng Shui after we lived in a rented house for several months when my parents sold their house ready to move to another county.

This house was perfectly fine but my Mum hated it with a passion, it was pretty dark and my Mum was convinced it had 'bad energy' or something like that.

She said the house made her feel bad. I didn't feel that strongly about it but could understand where she was coming from.

They live in a really lovely bungalow now which is completely their style and to their taste and they've done lots of great things to it.

So well done on the painting and on your new plan!
I've got my own flat :j:j

Now I have to pay the bills

And feed my interiors addiction ;)

Thanks makeup - I can now happily admit to having more than 2 feng shui books in my possession & home was organised around these principles when last 'done' but as the years have passed things have changed ... must dig those books out again, that'll keep me occupied :)
  • Wow Lula I had no idea all this was going on! Well done on the DD1 situation, I am impressed she told you in the first place, my family have no idea about my the extent of my debts.

And i am planning something similar for the house this holiday, i have already ordered stuff from Argos (classy bird) and been to ikea (middleclass bird trying to be cool) and am decluttering my room tomorrow. really looking forward to it after my marathon bathroom clean today.

oh lula you always sound like so much fun haven't seen your diary in ages I have missed it

    night hon xxxxxx

    Hi Lula :hello:

You sound very positive and 'Lula like' ! :D So much has gone on for you in the last few weeks, fishing, DD1's problems, it can sometimes be a case of 'getting through the day' so that you lose sight of the big picture and your wider aims

Well done for sitting back and taking stock - and for coming up with a plan, sarah would be proud :D

Need to do some 'big picture' thinking myself

    Take care
    Shoe Gal x :D

Evening all & hello again Buffy :A. I'm an Argos girl myself ( the DFW's Habitat ;)) I keep meaning to go to Ikea with my friend who's doing an interior design course ... but we're going to wait until we can afford to hire a lorry :rotfl:

The plan is going well & DD has been a revelation. She's really getting the hang of cutting in & as long as I swathe the skirting in masking tape she can paint a straight line :D. We've been dancing around to the radio & actually had a lot of fun as well as achieving a lot too. So much of our time at home over the past couple of years has revolved around me doing chores & her amusing herself which has always made me feel guilty :(. She's now an age where she can genuinely help & actually wants to as well. Must harness that enthusiasm & energy before it wears off - around the time she turns 12 I expect .

We've totally finished half the floor & the spare tin of paint I had (dating from November 2002 :o) was in perfect condition & we managed to paint the 3 largest walls so now only have 1 largeish wall & the one with mostly windows left to do & the other half of the floor. That bit I am dreading as it has the most heavy furniture on - chest of drawers, tv cabinet & pc desk. I want to buy so much new stuff for the living room; new pc, pc desk, curtains/blinds, wall shelves & new sofas but need to pay off more debt first.

My recent spending spree has gone way over what I intended & I'm starting to feel a bit scared. In spite of calling the electricity / gas company who assured me a bill had been sent out ... I havent yet receive it so have no idea what to expect & am still £100 down on the fund.

I havent been near the allotment or garden for 2 weeks now apart from to water the plants I was given :o. It's now only 3 weeks until our hol & it appears that I've now regained 4 of the pounds I lost .I havent even bothered to try on any type of swimming attire because I'd rather not have to look in the mirror & I will only have managed to scrape together £500 of my £700 target so things are going to be pretty damn tight.

DD1 has now received her welcome info from the CCCS & confided how relieved she was feeling :D which make me feel so much better too. As long as she can get all her wages out of the bank she will easily make it through the month, if not then I will have to make some arrangement for her as I'm a bit concerned about being away for two weeks when all this is going on. She has embraced the freebies board & was delighted to receive box loads of 'girl products' along with free entry to her fave clubs so that has cheered her up no end :rotfl:

Little DD is turning out to have quite a lucky streak too; on our way to the co op this evening she swooped into the phone box & emerged victorious with 60p :j apparently someone at school told her about this potential moneyspinner & she was delighted with her first scoop - me too, I didnt have pay for her sweets :T.

She's off to playcamp tomorrow & a bit nervous but seems to have shrugged off the cold that I was starting to be concerned about ...

Must go check online banking now then get to bed as need to be up & out early :(

    bye for now
    xx

    Yawn ...

I think the week end's energy burst has finally caught up with me & the pc - it's on a go sloooooow & really annoying me

I dropped DD off at the playcamp & she was so nervous bless her, but then relieved to discover that one of the leaders worked there last year too & remembered her too :) when I picked her up she asked to go for the final week as well so I guess she enjoyed herself :)

I've had plenty of work today which is good & havent actually spent anything for the first day that I can remember.

I paid the final £30 to make up CC1s minimum payment which has finally brought the total to under £5,000 & I must now concentrate on paying off the 0% while it still is 0. I wouldnt say that I'm regretting my spree, but what with the car insurance for DD1 I am now wondering how I'll manage to clear it all in 4 months

Cant believe its now only 3 weeks until our hol & although I havent reached the savings target I set myself - quelle surprise  - I now intend to spend as little as I can while we're away & am quietly aiming for no more than £350. I just need food & drink, the sun & warmth is holiday enough for me & I'll stock up on library books before we go so no need for those airport temptations then :D.

I need to get DD some wellies for her Brownie trip this weekend so will have to do a Tatco trip after playcamp tomorrow.

Still no bill from Southern Electric , will have to badger them as the suspense is becoming unbearable :o.

Need my bed now, struggling to keep my eyes open

    night night
