Confession time
I have been out, having a life :eek: safely back home now :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Sometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0 -
Hello,
glad to see you have been out having fun Shoe Gal
& talking of confessions ....
I've been out spending on my CC today; a trip to M & s for essential undies, a trip to Tacto mainly for holiday toiletries & a few bits of food followed by a trip to Boots to use my lovely double points & money off vouchers. Total spendage was £ 119 :eek:. I just couldnt bear to use the cash I had on me other than to put another £15 of fuel in the car :mad:.
The money spent in Boots did include a new film for my camera & a new kabuki brush with a case for travelling. Also I did get a free little bag with my skincare purchase which I thought was ok until I got it home & realised it had fabby little bits in it too
; mascara, sparkly eyeliner, lipgloss, & 2 travel sizes of the skincare stuff I use :j
I now have 400 euros too & must withdraw the remaining £80 from lloyds.
I have topped up a couple of the funds : gas & electricity now has £50, DDs hobbies & clubs etc now has £80 & the presents fund has a sad £40 but I am going to use some survey points to get some stuff for DD
.
I've finally had a response from the LA ... a compliments slip with " we have received your letter on the 3rd August". 10 days, just to send that :rolleyes:.
I have to take DD to the doctor after playcamp so must get on with making those calls to Barclaycard & Inland Revenue re CB ...
- Barclaycard duly informed of possible international spending spree
- Inland Revenue duly informed of new bank details - apparently they dont recommend payments into an ISA as the payment will bounce if my ISA hits its limit ... what am I the old woman who lived in a shoe ? It would take me about 3 years to get to my limit on my CB payments alone :rotfl:0 -
Good afternoon all,
Money continues to slip through my fingers ;
£6.50 for another day at playcamp for DD - it's the last day so big parteeeee
£2.50 for mini bottle of contact lens solution - in case my case & I end up in separate locations :eek:& it has to be under 100ml for hand luggage I believe.
£2.66 for ribbon for dress that I havent worn for ages as I hated the one that came with it.
£4.99 for new padlock for DDs case, I still remember the combination for mine :j
I will need to buy a bottle of wine to get me through the weekend - Bessfriend sleeping over tonight & I will also need to get more sugar.
I have hoovered the living room & touched up the rose stains :rolleyes: spent some quality time with a permanent nice & easy ( previous experience reveals that my usual semi permanent is stripped within 2 swims in a pool :eek: - not a good holiday look)
I have made a start on the packing by removing any clothing items for the hol form DDs room. I have washed all the towels this morning & have one more load of clothes to do & will change the sheets on sunday. Monday I need to check in on line so that we dont get bumped off the plane like last year & also go to the library & stock up on books.
I have also removed the last £80 from lloyds but have also managed to acquire another 2 x £2 coins this moring taking my total to £36
so when I get £40 I shall pay them into the lloyds acct to be used for household projects. For some reason £2 coins can only be paid in, in multiples of £20
.
I am now keen to make a start on redecorating/ refurbishing my bedroom when we return & as I have all the materials necessary it should be a very cheap process. I still need to do what I believe is known as desnagging ( finishing off bits) in the living room but this will be fun & I cannot express how much I love love love walking into the room now.
I really should get on with the last 2 days washing up now
- was so tired last night I went to bed at 9 :rolleyes:.
Should I start a new diary for my new plan or continue with this Quest ? I like this one but have been toying with a new title as inspired by Shoe Gal :A. She recently remarked that an evening I'd had sounded like a Carry On film & I think this could refer to my whole life so ever since I have wanted to call this 'Carry On Questing'
.
bye for now

My vote is for 'carry in questing' - I love it :jSometimes it's hard to walk in a single woman's shoes - that's why we need really special ones!Total debt @ Oct 2008: £29,226.42 Credit Card- £[STRIKE]7493.56[/STRIKE] - £7243.56Weightloss : 0/34lbs0

I thought you might
I love it too but would be sad to leave the main board - Hint Hint;) to the'movers & shakers' of MSE :wave: , being here makes me feel unique :cool:.
Wow, well done on the weight loss by the way :Athat's brilliant :j
Other news :
Have received a voucher for free kebabs from Waitrose so intended to collect DD, pick up Bessfriend then whizz to Waitrose to collect free kebabs, sugar & wine .... however it didnt quite go to plan :rolleyes:
Collected DD, picked up Bessfriend, drove to Waitrose, got out of car & realised I didnt have the voucher :doh:get girls back into car, smile sweetly at car park kiosk man & explain my stupidity & need to leave the car park without either purchasing or paying , head towards home then DD remembers that she left her hoodie ( the one I wanted to wash tomorrow to be ready to wear on plane) at the playcamp. Race to playcamp & manage to retrieve hoodie before the place is locked up for the next 4 weeks & am so fed up that I just head home via the co op, some wine, ice cream, sugar & a large bag of maltesers - total spend £ 9.40 :rolleyes:.
Some may say that this is an omen about the perils of shopping in Waitrose but I dont care
. When I get on to my new plan I will be shopping there more; it's sad, but I miss it, I miss the pleasant, polite, knowledgeable & literate 'partners' ( too posh for mere staff there
) I miss the clean, bright shop with it's few temptations. I miss the fruit & veg & more imprtantly it's in a small town with a Boots, a book
shop, cafe, wine bar, a couple of charity shops & a hole where woolies used to be.
The choice of Tatco's is either :
1) nearby town with population who appear to survive solely on Tatco value donuts & chips & beer with snotty nosed kids drinking tea out of bottles & eating crisps at 8.30 in the morning while their mothers yell " we'll gerra burger inamnnit I'm jus avin a fag innit" .
Or 2) the huge out of town store curiously paired up with Marks & Spencer which likes to rip me off on my reduced & bogof items on a regular basis & where I now tend to buy stuff that previously I would have bought elsewhere - like Boots. I'm taking a stand against the attempted Tatcopoly of the British Retail Market :mad:
Ok, I'm just a supermarket snob :rolleyes:0 -
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:for Carry On Questing :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
If you haven't yet played with the new "calculator", it's much simpler than it looks. Or at least it would be if I remembered that I have two of them, and they are not interchangeable...:o
Have a lovely holiday - can't wait to hear all the news when you get back...it's never a dull moment when you're around. :A

Good evening,
It's been a succesful day today. DD & Bessfriend let me lie in until 9 :j. I got 2 loads of washing done, took DD & Bess to allotment, did a bit of weeding & gathered beans, courgettes, raspberries & blackberries & allotmenteer neighbour gave me some gorgeous plums too
.
Karma is working well too.
Yesterday I gave some of the freebie cosmetics to the girl who ran the playcamp as the colour didnt suit me & would look fab on her. She seemed really pleased & today I got the letter I have been waiting for from the LA landlord re rent reduction : For the next 2 weeks I get a reduction of £30 :j . I am so chuffed & glad I pursued it as I nearly didnt bother thinking that as I'd already allowed for it there wasnt much point :rolleyes:.
DD1 came over after her shift (with 3 bags of washing :rolleyes:) so we dropped Bessfriend back at hers & donated some beans to her parents, then went to visit my dad who was very happy with his bag of veg. No point me having any as we're away so was happy to share it out beween him & DD1.
DD1 now has a new bank account & makes her first payment to CCCS in September. Seems much happier & less stressed too which I'm relieved about as I was really worrying about going away & leaving her all stressed
My room like a tip, the bed covered in stuff & cant seem to get myself organised to put anything in the cases ... have no plans for tomorrow other than washing, cleaning & packing though so should get it all done in a nice calm envrionment.
Had to spend £5.50 on food form the bakery for girls but that's it ... gave the kebab voucher to DD1 as trying to avoid shops & have a NSD ... might even go for bike ride if really organised :rotfl:0 -
