Thanks for sticking with me Leopard. I bought these things because they are supposed to be simple to set up. Jeeez!
Does not the fact that all green lights are on when just the homeplugs are plugged into a double socket by themselves discount them as being faulty?0 -
The green light might just mean there is power going to them... not that they are necessarily operating as intendedMy TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j0 -
Just curious Johnny
How are you replying to us? By connecting direct to the modem?
Is there absolutely no difference when connecting through the homeplugs now the lights are green?:idea:0 -
Correct Rik. I'm directly connected to the modem via a USB cable. The Modem and gubbins are downstairs. I need the internet upstairs!
The lights are green only when the homeplugs are connected to the same socket as Leopard suggested in an earlier post. When I configure it how its supposed to be ethernet and data lights are flickering still.0 -
When the lights are all green can you connect to the internet ok?
Why are you connecting to the modem direct via a USB cable as opposed to ethernet (Which you should be)?:idea:0 -
The USB is my existing setup. It's downstairs. It works fine, but i need the internet upstairs, hence the homeplugs. When I connect the homeplugs via the ethernet cables be it upstairs or down it's no go.0

What happens if you connect your computer direct to the modem via ethernet? (Which SHOULD work, as its a better connection)
My whole point here is im wondering if your ethernet driver isnt working or something:idea:0 -
I just tried it. It does not connect. You may be on to something!0

ok
are you on XP or Vista?
Press and hold the WINDOWS key & the PAUSE/BREAK keys together
Find DEVICE MANAGER
Are there any yellow exclamation marks next to any of the components?:idea:0 -
I'm running XP. No exclamation marks at all in device manager.0
