:aargh s.s! Don't they think of supplying materials to help you keep bond with your children! Get a recipe for salt dough off net, them whatever they make could be painted on a later visit and give you something to keep at home.
:Sometime I try to be NORMAL. . . But it gets boring so I go back to being me. . .

Hi Carla

EXCHANGING PERSONAL DETAILS

Martin’s asked me to post this in these circumstances:
For legal reasons I have to discourage swapping, buying, gifting and selling on the forum (please see this rule). While it can be a very useful way of saving money it relies on a certain amount of trust between members and as such can cause problems (and has in the past). If you have any questions about this policy please email !!!!!!.

However people can post links to craft & art websites for you. I'll merge this thread with your other one.

Best of luck :)

• my daughter had to live with my sister or 2years as my hubby and i both had a break down, i had one due to childhood history popping its head up and i took it out on my hubby..he suufers with depression anyway. she stayed with my sister who gave her everything so on contact found it very difficult to entertain her. i went to the local pound shop and bougth paints, paper ,colouring pens, glue and stickers all for a fiver she would sped hours doing crafts ad they lasted for agaes. the other thing we did was cards ie snap, pairs she was 2 1/2 when she first left us we got her back when she was just four and a bit.

hope you find some helpfull hints on this site i know it can be very diificult good luck

I signed up with Change 4 life - the NHS drive to get your kids healthy, anyway, they send lots of stickers through and we have just had a second pack today with some 'snap' cards in. Gives my little one something to do. Just sign up on the internet, doesn't cost anything. Good luck, people are great on here aren't they, got some great tips from here myself, thanks everyone.

Hi Carla,

Perhaps you could join freecyle & ask if anyone has a printer they don't want anymore I'm sure there are loads out there.

Best of luck to you :)

Printing at the local library is free or a few pence per copy, so you could always print there and then take along with you.
You could make up a story with them and then act it all out in a wonderful production?
How about papier mache? A pack of wallpaper paste, water, bucket and some newspaper. Make it into different objects or even a pinata which you could fill will goodies the next time you visit them so they could have a go on it?
Make mosaics or montages of your favourite photos or pictures from old/free magazines. You can ask the local clinic or Dr's surgery for old mags or even hairdressers.
Maybe your local surestart centre could help you out some more ideas?

Buy a packet of plain biscuits, plain gingerbread men if you can afford them and decorate them with those ready to use icing tubes you can get. They come in all colours, it's good fun, I think even the boys will like this because they can eat the end results :-)
You can buy the little tubs of cake decorations for extra fun if money allows or just small sweets like jelly tots or smarties.
Might also need a plastic table cover to put down and small sandwich bags to take them away. Both sold in the £ shop.
