OH YES........ because you aint got a printer , you can get one off freecycycle too

I found a few arts and craft , grow your own vegetable freebies etc,
free seeds and book , Maybe its a good idea to grow some plants with them and bring them with you to the center everytime you see them and show them the progress , or if there allowed , keep it at the residents.
Heres a free poster of thomas the tank engine , everyone who enters competition gets a poster so enter it a few times and you can give to your children as gifts or something to look nice in the room for the younger ones. You may even win the actual competition too , you never know.
Heres a free type of entertaining pack through the post , The kids may like this.
Heres 3D pictures which you can print out if you get a printer , I'm sure the kids will love this. Theres such a large variety which you print and they can cut out and glue together. Just don't forget the glue!!
This one is sort of for you , a handy pair of free craft sissors if you need them. These look quite handy.
Theres LOVEFILM , if you can watch a movie with them , lovefilm offer up to 3 months FREE trial so you can ask them which DVD they want and you can rent it for them for free
Has anyone got a 90 day trial code for this???
I'm not sure if your allowed because of there strict rules but maybe you could take a digital camera with you and let them have fun taking photo's. Then you can print them off free at places like SNAPFISH where you get like 20 free prints and then sometimes Jessops have free print offers too. Has anyone any codes or other websites with free prints??
I got these freebies searching through the freebie board and I'll add anymore if i see anything which may be useful. But don't forget that some of these freebies can take a bit of time to come and others come quickly but its worth it still.
one last thing is a FREE little downloaded song which you might want to put on your phone or something , its a personalised jokey one and its not everyones taste but have a look
ALL THE BEST

Hi Carla27
Here's some suggestions that don't require any materials...
What about playing old fashioned party/playground games such as Simon Says, What Time is it Mr Wolf, May I, Hunt the Thimble, 20 Questions and the game where you take turns to pretend to be an animal the the rest have to guess what you are.
You could also maybe bring in balloons - all children love balloons. You can then make a circle and pass it to each other using only your knees (or under your chin) - this always makes children giggle. Another balloon game is to try and keep it in the air only by blowing it.
Hope this helps and good luck with everything.Jan: Goalie gloves, Menapause Aid, T-Shirt, Memory Stick, Lipgloss, black golf balls and zee tee, menu mens hair products Feb: 4 tix to Mary Poppins, 2 cineworld tix May: Maybeline make up, Watchmen book, CD, 4 x Oasis Tix Oct: 2xDVDs0 -
What about dressing up? have you got old dresses, bags, hats, necklaces etc - your own, maybe your mum's. Lots of children of all ages like dressing up and playing pretend games, especially when mum joins in with them. You can pretend to be princes and princesses, and talk in funny posh voices, or characters of Corrie or whatever you watch on TV.
You can make more pretend games using chairs and big cardboard boxes (you can get them for free from most shops). Pretend they're a car, or a cooker, or other household things. Draw on them if it helps.
You could get books from the library, and read them and do funny voices.
You could sing songs and dance, although I appreciate you might feel embarrassed doing that in front of contact people.
Can you ask for the contact to be somewhere else? I know they have contact meetings at my local sure start centre and the sure starts have lots of toys and equpiment and playrooms with ball pits and big soft mats and things.
If later, you do get to take the children out it depends where you are. I live in Liverpool and we have quite a few museums and art galleries that have fun interactive (free) things for children. Also, swimming is free for children, and as mentioned before there are the sure start centres but I think mostly they're for under fives.0 -
hi i have 4 kids in foster care and see them 3 times a week ,i have no printer, and we have to stay in a room and they get very bored can any one help me.if you can send me any think i can send postage.
before anyone askes i had break down and i had to put them in rist bite and now s.s are really playin up all i did was ask for help.:mad:0 -
Hi Carly. Things you can collect at home like toilet roll inners, yougurt pots etc. make craft items that you can pick up at a card shop go further.
I find this website really useful for inspiration for different craft bits and pieces, I'm not allowed to post a link, but if you google craft bits, that's the websites name. I'm not suggesting that you follow all those ideas, but they might give you ideas for age appropriate crafts.
Something I remember that I loved doing when I was little was keeping a scrap book, so you could pick up some cheap books, glue sticks, felt pens and gel pens in a pound shop and all create scrap books with stickers and things cut out from newspapers and old magazines?
I hope that's helpful, and all the best to you and your kids. x0
