Avira also has AVG*** in some of the hijack logs. So its probably that your seeing
If youve updated the driver and its slow then id recommend installing an OLDER driver:idea:0 -
Thinking about what I just saw on your other thread. Do you HAVE a nvidia graphics card??
If not thats probably why its so slow. Your using the wrong driver:idea:0 -
Yes it is an Nvidia card. How do I find an OLDER driver? What will tell me if one is older than another?
Also, have ditched Avira for now and installed Avast but CANNOT get it to update come love nor money!
Any ideas?
Display is still 'too big'.
But I am actually delighted to be back on my own computer so am relatively relaxed.
ps Have taken off Zone Alarm and installed PC Tools firewall and it's going mad with all the alerts! Guess it proves it's working! :rolleyes:0 -
Displays probably too big as you have such an old card that the newest drivers just arnt going to work properly with it
Can you tell me EXACTLY what card it is?
And why did you uninstall Avira?
(And maybe you cant update because you blocked it with the firewall?):idea:0 -
Not to my knowledge but anything is possible!:eek:Displays probably too big as you have such an old card that the newest drivers just arnt going to work properly with it

Nvidia GeForce 2 MX/MX400 ? Assuming I'm looking at the right thing?
And why did you uninstall Avira?
Initially as it was conflicting with something - cant remember what!
(And maybe you cant update because you blocked it with the firewall?)0 -
Ive personally never known Avira conflict with anything (bar perhaps another security program)
This is the right driver ~

I've decided to go back to Avira as Avast is driving me round the bend. Probably something I did when downloading but if you say Avira shouldn't clash then I'll give it another go.:T0 -
If thats the case then download DRIVER SWEEPER
Run that to wipe the video drivers THEN install the newly downloaded driver:idea:0
