Its not the using it correctly its what you do after that. Most people wouldnt take something back that they got for free with vouchers. But there are a few out there who would.

I think this is whats been happening...
People have been 'buying' gym balls, ab toners etc.. taking back for refund then re-buying with more vouchers and returning again.. repeating the cycle with the vouchers from the Change one thing booklets.

oh dear! them ab thingies were £40 werent they?

id feel kinds bad returning a perfectly fine thing (liek i said i only done that one wot made my eye all red and sore) and sayin i paid cash if i didnt (i told teh no7 lady i got the eye cream with a voucher)

im not condoning people who do so dont think i feel bad of anyone

but personally i think theres a limit on how cheeky i can stand to be, e.g. i think its cheeky to take a handful of samples from a box but tight to empty teyh lot into your bag

i dunno if that makes any sense?

im not gettin at no one tho- everyone on here is really nice and its nowt to do with me what your comfort zone is

    ;)

Agree.. I wouldn't have the nerve personally.. But I do think Boots should look a bit closer to home first before removing points blocking cards etc.... If people are 'allowed to do it/get it/return it' they will.

I've read on here that people could get the gym ball for free using the 2 vouchers, some couldn't.. yet it clearly stated on them 'one per transaction' (from diff books I know, but still one transaction)

Some have returned free items and got the full equivalent back in an exchange.. some only the price over the money off voucher..

Some get points vouchers scanned by SA's for products they haven't bought.. some don't...

If there was some parity between the stores for purchases, offers, returns policies etc I dont think these 'scams' would happen...

But with out the reciept you can only exchange and not refund. So not get your money back.

Unless people have been buying BOGOF's and then returning the free one to get an exchange but again all they would get is an exchange and not a refund.

I bought lots of bits and pieces from the TD range when the change one thing was on. But did not always use my card only if buying something like the face cream. As for the free stuff no points. So no point.

Unless it is to do with people doing exchanges As they claim not to have there card with them and I assume when the new stuff is put through the till they would get more points as it treats them as a new sale as they go through the till. As the till reciept would be validated for them to collect points at a later date. If you kept doing that on items that where worth say £20/£30 a few times would soon add up.

    Other wise

If Boots got there tills and vouchers properly programmed there would be no problem. They would only take what vouchers for products that have been bought. I once got extra points because a Saturday SA's accidently scanned the same voucher twice. It was busy and she said to me "oops never mind" sort of thing and said she would do nothing about it. We both knew it would take longer and cause to much hassle.

Maybe they should change the policy as it is a rather generous one. And only allow returns with reciepts that would stop returning reduced goods and getting full refund.

Mind you I find this whole bodyform thing freaky that gives you change and points. Again this comes down to the till not being corrected programmed to realise the product is 99p and the voucher is £1. Not that I really want the 1p.

Prehaps he is from head office and he is noting all are names down to put black marks next to are names so that we get are cards taken away from us :rotfl:

As you say I have been spending a lot more money than ususal in Boots. Reckon I have half the shop here :rotfl:

Only joking but a small supply of skin care for about a year. And 6 months worth of shampoos and conditioners. And a few months supply of shower gel.

So I should be ok for a while. Might give me chance to build up some points to get something nice for myself.

It is, but its just the way things used to be, I don't know whether it has changed. But I know when I returned something because I found it cheaper, I had to call the manager and say take the points off my card because they are clamping down on it  It comes up on the computer for the store that you have visited then it gets sent to head office.
This is how Boots get on to the scams that have happened and there was a major scam that happened recently but cannot mention as it is private.
Simple solution - Say you've forgotten your AC when returning goods. ;)

what's going on here - what exactly is the point in alluding to something if you are not going to say what it is? I have just been catching up on all these posts and lots of people, who are probably not even doing anything wrong, are really worried that they are going to get banned/get their cards taken away or worse!! if you have something to say then why not just help everyone and say it...

I've got to agree if there is something we all need to know tell us, if not please don't allude to some possible problem and possible removing of points etc.

I personally take advantage of points from the machine, did use TD but in a small way, buy lots of reduced stuff, but also buy nappies, wipes, baby food, shampoo etc all year.

I return items if they are faulty or do not suit me so I really can't see what I or most others on this board could be accused of.

The vouchers are to improve sales, they do!!

    Please don't scare monger.

    Thanks
