When I have returned something without a receipt I have exhanged the item for phone credit rather than buy something I don't need.

I went to Boots in Market harborough today hoping to get my Lilac bag but the store was tiny therefore had nothing good BOGOF to buy to get the bag.

I'm stood here PMSL, I'm a communicator for the Deaf. Last week I was explaining to a Deaf about hearing people using the term Bog Off for Buy One Get One Free, the women thought I was pulling her leg.

Did you get the Lilac bag with them too? I bought two today in Trafford Centre, with 2 £5 vouchers and got 2 Lilac bags too! :D Sorry Pash! :p
No -I should have but only had 1 voucher to start with, so got them in two transactions and got 2 £5 vouchers back. I stood for ages puzzling over how to get a lilac bag that way- I should have spent the £10 I spent on over the counter medicines which I split to make up to £10 on each transaction. Phew. However, I have 3 lilac bags. So, really I didn't need any of it.
My teenage daughters seem quite keen on the lilac bag as a gift for friends, but what happens with them is that once they have given it to one friend ,they feel it is old hat and start asking for money towards presents. Meanwhile, as they showed some interest i have over stocked up on the item.Eventually, if I am hard enough, they crack and go to the Boots box.If I didn't have them shifting some of the stuff I would be in a much worse state- as it is I think, though am not convinced, that I only have stuff we will use...

i was told by 3 different people that phone credit cudn't be applied either cos it's not a boots product.seems 2 me that stores make up their own minds wot they're gonna say.

Going on my first shopping spree tonight, think I know what to look for but my list is so long with all the bargains just in case I need to make up to £10 that it might take me all night in boots alone. Fingers crossed I get the lilac bag and no grumpy sa. Will let you all know how I get on.
:pwould like to make it known it is not a DHN, she's dancing :p
