OK, so who else has bump envy? I can't be the only one, i went a pregnancy pilates and a pregnancy yoga class this weekend and found myself jealously eyeing up other peoples bumps and sticking my fat belly out to try and compete. I'm nearly 19 weeks and although I do have a bump, it just looks like fat....

I used to do that! But since about 20/21 weeks I've had a proper bump so now I'm quite happy although some days I feel it's normal for my tummy to stick out more than my boobs and think I don;t look bumpy at all :p

Have you decided what you're going to wear on Saturday? I need to know what you look like so I can say hello! :D We don;t know anyone else who's going.

    How you all doing ladies?

Some of you may not want to read this as it is about my misscarriage but I really wanted to just raise your awareness about it as mine was so bad! I had no idea what to expect either. I just hope that nobody has to go through what I did.

Sticky baby dust to you all! xxx

Well I officially had the week from hell last week. As you all know I found out I was having a misscarriage last tuesday. Well I decided I wanted to have the d&c so I had to wait for them to get back to me. They called on the wednesday to say I'd need to go along to the hospital & see the Doctor on the thursday & then go back in for the op on the friday.

Ok I thought...Life goes on...Positive mental attitude & all that carp! I went out & just carried on as normal on wednesday morning. Picked hubby up & whilst driving around doing a few errands I started to have the worst cramps imaginable.

Stopped & got some painkillers & decided to head home. Had a few hours on the sofa feeling terrible & then had a mad dash to the loo. It was then very apparent that my misscarriage was well under way. I was loosing lots of tissue & blood clots. (Sorry if tmi) :o

I was literally glued to the loo for 2+ hours having terrible contractions every 3-5 minutes. (I actually didn't know that once you get to around the 12 week mark & you misscarry that your body will basically put you into labour in order for your misscarriage to take place)

I started to feel very woozy & had to lie on the floor as I thought I was about to pass out. I was bleeding really heavily & by now it was 9pm. I crawled into bed but was having a terrible time. I was wearing two of Ruby's nappies at a time & having to change them every 20-30 mins.

Hubby was worried sick & rang NHS Direct by 10pm. They ended up rushing me into hospital & I was in there until friday teatime.

Contractions finally stopped by 1am & I was settled on the ward. Seen by Dr who said I would need a scan to just check that everything had made it's way out. I was sure it must have but when I went for my internal scan the pregnancy sac was still high up in my womb. So I ended up having the d&c on the friday morning after all that.

I came home friday teatime to find three gorgeous lots of flowers had been delivered for me.

I am very sad about what has happened but I also believe that these things happen for a reason.

The silly thing is that I feel more upset now about the fact that I feel absolutly fine. I have no pain, very little bleeding & I some how feel guilty as hell. I know that's sounds so silly but I feel like I should be hurting.

I'm still emotional & keep having a good cry. I'll be back though...I'm going to take 2-3 months to get myself back on track & then we'll try again.

I'll still be here though checking in on you all. Good luck ladies. xxx :A

Becky, I felt exactly the same after my mc. While I was bleeding and in pain that was all could concentrate on, and mine was nearly but not quite as bad as yours - they are much worse then you imagine.

Once my bleeding and pain had stopped I felt so much worse because I was able to focus on the emotional side - all you can do is cry and grieve and let nature take its course.

You will still cry randomly for ages but allow yourself to be sad and to grieve for your baby.

We started trying again straight away and got PG within weeks but that was what felt right for us - if you want to wait a bit then do that. You will know when you're ready.

If you want to talk just PM me. :A

I wouldn't put much faith in the government changing the way maternity leave is set up any time soon... They've been saying they would change the length of time maternity pay is paid from 9 months to 12 about 2 years ago but have never actually commited to giving a date to it...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

Well as you can guess I'm home from work - HECTIC day - but always knew this week would be manic...
DH was working from home today and was supposed to do dinner... apparently his idea of cooking is a Domino's :rotfl: not complaining mind! :)
Day started with nearly having a row over what amount of days I'd do in one office or the other... I'm pushing it with 3 days in offices and they were very upset I wasn't going to do 4... (even they won't push their luck and try and get me to change my GTT on friday LOL). Bearing in mind my back and hips are worse than they have ever been they seriously thought I'd do 4 days in the office this week... dream on! I can barely walk now after nearly a full day in the office - I KNOW I'll be in agony tomorrow and then back in the office wednesday and the other office on thursday...
So having had "discussion" about how to make sure everything gets done this week finally got a plan (although accepted by work with very bad grace...) for the week. Spent most of the day wanting to scream at people, some are soooooo useless it does my head in... they have waited till NOW before asking me questions - with less than a week to go...

Back home at last though so that's good...

Oh yeah and I got my payslip today (as wasn't in Friday) and it didn't add up to me... so did some maths and figured there was £236 missing... queried it with HR/Payroll - turns out they hadn't updated the system to show I had been there a year and so hadn't given me full sick benefits... They will correct it in my next paycheck... gee thanks! Good job I have a safety cushion and can manage until next pay check without that £236 really...
Now have to check last months paycheck too to make sure they have paid the correct amount there as suspect there might be a few squids missing there too...
Ah well - bonus £236 next month I guess... :)

    Hello,

Can I join please? I'm 11 weeks pregnant today (still can't get used to saying it) and very excited! This is my first pregnancy; my OH has 2 daughters so not his first time. My due date is 19th October, I have my dating scan next tuesday - I'm wondering if my due date will change when I've had that?

I was relieved to read a few pages back about bloating early in pregnancy - I thought it was too early for a bump and thought I was getting fat from all the food I'm eating (to relieve nausea - any excuse lol), I'm very happy to switch the reason to bloating! But I also want a proper bump, and get bump envy, I'd never really noticed other women's bumps before!

I was sorry to read your sad story Beckysleaf. xx

Hey hun, well the bundle is a box with wipes a changng mat and some samples of stuff like shower gel, washing powder etc.
You need a voucher (i'll grab the link in a sec) and a nectar card. And your meant to buy a pack of size 1 newborn huggies and then you get the bundle for free. Its worth £9.99 but as they have 1/3 off, the bundle is like £6ish and the nappies £2ish, so you get it all for free as the voucher is worth £9.99! :D

If you dont have a nectar card sign up here http://www.nectar.com/NectarHome.nectar

And sign up for one, its free and v. handy to have. They will send it at some point.

    Hope that helps :) xx

Rather than mess about with maternity leave, I wish there was some sort of financial aid for men when their partners have to be admitted to hospital.

*awaits all the holier than thou 'should have saved PROPERLY before getting pregnant' posters* :rotfl: (see Glam, I'm used to it)

I'm not working, and won't be for a good few years (1 year at home then 4+ at college/Uni) so ML doesn't affect me at all. But hubby only gets the stat 2 weeks, after the baby is born and no sick pay. So we have to try and save like mad atleast 4 weeks of his wages incase I am admitted. Unless he goes to his GP and lies to be signed off with stress but then that looks bad on his works record, and it's lying. and still only SSP whatever that is nowerdays.

    [rant alert]

Anyway, I didn't go back to college, I sat with my feet up and BP came down to a regular 145/90. Then DH came home at 3, I told him what had been happening and he went off on one because 'I sat on my !!!! and did f all, didn't wash a dish or put the washing in the tumble dryer or nothing' and he's fed up of doing everything and if I'm going to be like this then I should go and call the council cos he is going to quit rather than work and do all the housework. And the kids are getting bullied because they look like wee mingers because I haven't done a washing or ironing. Or I'm just at it so I can give up college and not sit my exams and lots of other crap like that. So I was not amused, still not. And no appology either!

    Phew, feel better!
