...Booked myself on 'parentcraft classes' today - MW Said to book early and that I had to go from 24 weeks. When I rang to book was told it was 34 weeks and that I didn't need to book yet but I did as I will forget nearer the time! So I am booked in for 10th Sept - do we think I will remember when the time comes?!!
Make sure you set a reminder on everything like fone PC etc.. and if I remember rightly your HSM wall planer?:rotfl:
I forgot all about mine and only remembered about 2hrs before while OH was on the Isle of White!! I had to get mum to come over to sort Chris out for me and felt a right t-i-t looking like a single teen mum, I made a point of letting peeps kno I was married and OH was working away :p

Tine - Assuming its the neighbors you get on well with do you trust them to come up with a price themselves if you tell them what it cost of mattress was new and how little its been used? I would be happy with min £500 i think  not that I'd spend that on a mattress myself :p My budget for king bed & mattress is £200-300 when We finally get around to being able to get it!!

Tia - I remember donny :D that is so cute that they say that! I love that LO's are so accepting, shame as they grow up they get influenced by stoopid parent etc

Thanks Sami - DH was thinking £150 and I told him that was a wee bit low bearing in mind how expensive it was! Especially as it really hasn't been used! I really don't know what a fair price would be for a second hand matress though! even if it hasn't been used much at all...

have you looked to see if there are any completed listings for similar on ebay, see what they have sold for?
My thinking is if I wanted to buy a specific mattress that cost £800 and my lovely friend Tine said I have that one only been slept on about 30 times so almost new I would think well I was willing to pay £800 and as its a bit used I'll knock a bit off the 'new price' and came up with £500.
Suppose also take into consideration how much you want rid of it and how much you 'need' the money.
I'm the sort of person that when things aren't tight would sell for £150 like ur OH said but as its tight here at the mo I'd be more bothered about getting it's true value IYSWIM

  • I would ask them what they thought was a fair price and put them on the spot! ;). £150 seems fair though for secondhand (must admit I never thought people would buy and use someone elses mattress until now! :o).

I have a 2nd hand mattress :p but it was bought in same situation as Tine is selling (from spare bed of a friend) I'd never buy one that was off someones bed that they'd been sleeping on every night for a year :rotfl:

did you get my PM SB?? there is one more post after the one I linked to that needs amending ;) xx
