Congratulations Suzy, well done for choosing HB, get loads more attention at home!!!

I agree its a more pleasurable experience.

I had number 2 and 3 at home, they wouldnt let me have number 4 as the births have halved in time each time, first one was 4 hours and so on.

On this baby they have decided that as i'm with a different partner i can go ahead for a home birth. I dont know how they worked that one out but who am i to argue. lol

I'm too anti social to go into hospital. Hb all the way!

    Good choice.

I can honestly recommend it, your more relaxed in your own home and can do what you want to do rather than being tied to a room in the hospital.

The only drawback is if your like me your up half an hour after giving birth putting a wash on..6 weeks later you havent recovered properly as you've done too much. This time, im determine to rest and enjoy my little one

Oh flip, DS1 has just come downstairs. He has broken the USB adapter on his computer. He is so clumsy. Broke the computer last year, and the dishwasher. Spilt acrylic paint on his carpet, got some on his school clothes last week. Damaged his bike and has got a hole in his shoes. Headache!!!

    I'm home!

Was finally allowed out when I went to the Midwife and told her that I needed to see the Registrar, as I was unable to stay in any longer, and would have to leave without the medication if it came to it. She faffed about, and went to the Pharmacy, who apparently had lied and hadn't made the prescription up afterall! Only took 5 hours, a lot of crying, a pretty bad panic attack and me threatening to walk out to get the pills. Feel silly for over-reacting, but can learn from it I suppose. I was fine when I was kept up-to-date and informed, it was only when they stopped giving specifics that I got panicky. Through the night, the Midwife was lovely and told me when my next dose of medication would be, or what time I'd next be checked. That really helped, and I freaked out a bit when the new midwife started being vague and saying I could go 'soon' and the medicine would be here 'shortly'. I'll make a note on birth plan that I really do need specific information.

OH very strange though, I phoned him to say I was on my way home, got in and he is in bed. Didn't come downstairs to see me, so I cleaned the rabbit out, put a load of washing in and set the dinner cooking. Went up and had a bath, and afterwards stuck my head round the door to tell him dinner will be ready in half an hour if he wants some. Shall wait and see if he comes down. Not sure how to feel really, was kinda looking forward to a welcome home hug - I found it hard enough to rationalise his not visiting me or picking me up, but is it really that stressful to come downstairs and welcome me home? I dunno.

Feel a bit all over the place at the moment. Unfortunately this is the safest drug in pregnancy, but side-effects can be depression. Fingers crossed its just a combination of tiredness, low blood sugar and being away from home thats made me a bit of a stressed and tearful crazy lady.

Was alright I suppose. Food was nice but tiny portions! Pregnant women cannot survive on those amounts. Didn't get charged for private room in the end, think it counts as a clinical need if you get there and sit and cry! Patientline thing wasn't as bad as I was expecting, internet comes with TV, so £2.90 for 24 hours telly and internet. Speed was alright, probably 2mb, but the keyboard was very little and the mouse didn't like going right! Didn't realise how messy MSE looks on a little screen, I missed my 19 inch monitor. I managed to sleep, not sure I would have done on the ward, but in private room it was okay. No-one told me if I was allowed to shower though, or if there was anywhere I could go, so just sat in the room the whole time.

BP is 'stable', got to be monitored on Saturday, Tuesday, Thursday, Sunday and Wednesday over the next two weeks. Hopefully it'll stay stable. It isn't pre-eclampsia, its Gestational Hypertension.

    Hope all is okay.
    Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.

Awwh Feeling you sound like you've been through it

Your other half is probably just giving you some space and doesn't know what to do for the best. You know what men are like
