HA! Just reading the April issue of Prima Baby and it says 1st 9lb is the expected weight gain during pregnancy for someone of a healthy, normal weight before conceiving.. Will throw that down in front of them all tomorrow if I have to ;)

Mind you, I'm sure I read somewhere that 28-40lbs is fine for someone who was underweight to begin with (I was).. that's 2st to 2st12lbs.
Elle - I had put on over a stone by about 16 weeks and I haven;t weighed myself since! I'm too scared!

I was 8st 10 and last time I checked was just under 10st.

But people still tell me I look small and that my bump looks too small - even though I measure 2cm over the fundal height that's average for my gestation and all the doctors tell me I have a 'good bump'.

People should keep their mouths shut IMO!

I'm too scared to go INTO hospital! :rotfl: I decided that I'm only 20 mins from the hospital if I really can;t take it, but I'd rather try and be at home where I know it is clean and I will be comfortable. I am a bit scared about it all, but I would still ratehr be at home, and after Saturday OH agrees with me fully. We were desperate to get out of there and not just cos of the personal trauma. The staff were lovely but they can;t be everywhere.

Yay! :T I mentioned this (think it might have been in the last thread!) but I think most people thought I was nuts. Most thought that I would need at least 4 weeks off!!!!

Mt job is the same as yours - sit on me bum, will have mat cover person in by then and generally not having to do very much :D

Might be four weeks if we go really overdue! ;) You're due before me though so I'll see how you go first! :p I've been told to take a book with me and "swan around visiting people" - doesn't "swanning" imply gracefulness?! Don't think I'll be doing much of that at 37wks plus!

    Hello everyone!
I'm 11 weeks pregnant today! :j This is our first, we're completely new to this game and I'm finding this a fab read.

Hopefully all will seem real after we go for our first scan tomorrow morning - what to expect, what to ask, weirdy machines . Excited, and apprehensive, my emotions are all over the shop.

Have you seen what's on C4 at 9pm tonite - the great sperm race - 250 million little spermies racing to get each one of us preggers. Until tomorrow, I'm imagining just the one made it to the finish line!!

Oh, same! I was 7st 10lb at my booking appointment and now I'm just under 9st (as in the needle is somewhere around that point but I can't see quite where without my glasses on! :o). Can barely tell I'm pregnant from the front or back. I just have, like OH boss said, a "lump at the front" :D

That's the Royal Berks in Reading. It scores fairly highly I think but I knew it was shocking as I've seen it with friends and I don;t want to go anywhere near it unless I absolutely have to!

It's not the staff's fault, but it's dreadful management not to have enough people on.

At least at home I get a MW all to myself.

You will have 2. :D I had 3. One of my neighbours is a school nurse and qualified midwife and wants to be here for this one so I could end up with a crowd. :p
Too many children, too little time!!!

    Hi sparkly - welcome! :)

I had my first scan at what turned out to be 11+1. It wasn't that clear cos I hadn't drunk enough, but we saw waving/flapping arms! :D

I just turned over to Channel 4.. ETA: Imagine all these actors' CVs.. "Part played: A sperm" - lurvely! ;)
