This is the style of pram I have only a different colour as I got last seasons, and I like the 2 handles, but I had a single handle with DDs pram and I liked that too !!!

We chose this one this time as the handles are telescopic and as my OH is over 1 1/2 ft taller than me, he needs it :rotfl:

That's the one I want! IT looks so fab.

Is anyone watching Dispatches? 44 per cent of midwives have seen women left in life threatening situaitons apparently! And after what I saw on Saturday in my hospital, I can well believe it. Scary.

I've always loved the look of the Pliko Pramette but am now wondering if the two separate handles will be as comfortable as a single handle?

WHat have other people found? Are two handles ok or is being unable to change your grip uncomfortable?

I don't like single handles but that's maybe a personal thing. I was never able to steer with one hand with a single handle but could manage it at a push by holding onto one of two. Also with two handles you can hang a shopping bag or two over the back (just make sure its not heavy enough to tip the pram back if you let go!) which you can't do with a single.

    I'm working to 38 weeks!! :o (first timer naive-ness ;))

Yay! :T I mentioned this (think it might have been in the last thread!) but I think most people thought I was nuts. Most thought that I would need at least 4 weeks off!!!!

Mt job is the same as yours - sit on me bum, will have mat cover person in by then and generally not having to do very much :D

What did you see on Saturday ???????????????????

At my hospital delivery suite, there was me (PG lady bleeding in distress and possible emergency), two C-sections and at least one active labour and only ONE MW, ONE doctor and ONE consultant for all of us.

It shocked me they were so understaffed (and they kept saying sorry and that they didn;t have enough people cos it was the weekend) and I'm rather glad I'm having a home birth.

One lady was left in the scan room because there were no beds on the maternity wards left! Poor woman was on her own, about to have a baby, with a toddler in tow and stuck in the scan room!

HA! Just reading the April issue of Prima Baby and it says 1st 9lb is the expected weight gain during pregnancy for someone of a healthy, normal weight before conceiving.. Will throw that down in front of them all tomorrow if I have to ;)

Mind you, I'm sure I read somewhere that 28-40lbs is fine for someone who was underweight to begin with (I was).. that's 2st to 2st12lbs.

That's the Royal Berks in Reading. It scores fairly highly I think but I knew it was shocking as I've seen it with friends and I don;t want to go anywhere near it unless I absolutely have to!

It's not the staff's fault, but it's dreadful management not to have enough people on.

At least at home I get a MW all to myself.
