Am I an awful Mummy if I skip antenatel? All I want to do tonight is snuggle up on the sofa with OH.Stay-at-home, attached Mummy to a 23lb 10oz, 11 month old baby boy.0

Hi all..
OH has put me on the sofa and told me not to move until I've had at least an hour's napLots of people have asked if I'm okay today - apparently I look tired/drawn/dazed/knackered/pale/"not quite with it" (cheers darling colleagues!) - then asking OH too cos they don't believe me when I've said I'm fine
Back later.. Hope everyone's okay xx0 -
:rotfl: :rotfl: Yes. What else did you think it might be?
I just wanted to make sure!!!
R.mac - Next is a little out of my price range unfortunatley. I'm watching a few things on eBay now. It's just sometimes I can get into an 8 no problem and then others I can't pull them up over my thighs!! Yet the size 10's I had on today from Next (Sale!) were too big on the bum and thighs.
I think I'll get some 8's as I weighed myself at the hospital on Monday night (not weighed myself at all since about Christmas) and I appear to have now lost half a stone. Am hoping that at 8 stone I will fit into an 8.
If I buy skirts it's a 6 and tops well, I'm not evening going to start on that..........A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

thanks - I've done it now
Glamazon - I understand about the price thing. FYI next jeans come up big - I went from a normal size ten to needing the size 8 and they were still on the big side - I found they wore well, so an ebay purchase would be a good idea.
Otherwise, are you or do you know anyone handy with a needle that could take a reg length leg up for you???r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0 -

No, you wouldn't be a bad mummy at all, BUT given that you are anxious about the birth already, I think in the long run it would probably help you more to go to the class, rather than to stay home, if you can bear it at all. I had bad PND after no 2, and suffered from panic attacks like you, so I know how hard it can be to go into new situations, but my own experience was that if I could force myself to do something a few times, it got easier from then on in, and being forewarned and very prepared for potentially stressful situations like birth by someone who was trained in dealing with this kind of thing was better than being dropped in at the deep end.
If you do go, treat yourself to something nice to enjoy on the sofa with a cuddle with OH after the class is over!0 -

I can't sew and no don't know anyone that I could ask! I have found a few on eBay and OH has said he will take me to H&M on Saturday so I will see what I can get then.
Someone in work has already said to someone who knows about me being pg - oh, she looks pregnant! So will have to make announcements next week methinksA very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Okay - as a last resort, should you get stuck, buy a pair of standard length trousers (won't work with jeans but would for black trousers etc) and turn the leg under until you reach desired length. You can buy 'wonderweb' (really cheap - max £2 per roll which will do lots of things) in lots of shops - try a haberdashers. you place it between the folds of the turn under and iron - it sticks the fabric together and can be washed etc. Sewing without the needle and thread.
otherwise often dry cleaners will do alterations, hemming shouldn't cost too much (certainly cheaper than the more expensive maternity trousers).
HTH - if you are in edinburgh I'll do them for you!r.mac, you are so wise and wonderful, that post was lovely and so insightful!0
