That any smear tests for girls aged under 25 in england get ignored by the labs
so a GP can agree to give a girl a smear for what ever reason, send it to the lab and they just dispose of the swab/slide and send a letter saying ur too young we won't test you:eek:

I thought that under 25's could still have a smear if they asked for one, which is true but they won't ever get looked at by the lab!

We had a letter from Public Health about this - they won't test a smear for anyone under 25 UNLESS the patient is bleeding between periods or there is a clinical reason. Public Health say it can do 'more harm than good' to test before 25 because the cervix goes thru natural changes which can include bad cells which are perfectly normal and do disappear on their own. A women who has any CIN (bad cells) will have to have Colposcopy and treatment which could be harmful if it was just natural changes.

We have decided that if anyone comes in and asks for a smear then we will ensure there is sufficient information on the sample form so that it does get tested.

Day off work today - after arguing this AM we made up and OH treated me to lunch and then went shopping for meternity clothes OMG what a nightmare. Tesco, Matalan, TopShop, New Look, Dorothy Perkins had nothing - the only place that had anything decent was Mothercare buit OMG how expensive. Going to look on eBay and try the big ASDA by me on the weekend.

I seem to have got massive in the last few days - I put on a size 10 pair of trousers today which was great for bump but spent whole day hitching them up.

Mucus Plug - gross but fascinating.

I went looking for maternity clothes this morning. We only have DP, New look and Peacocks. The range of sizes is awful! DP only had one style of jeans in my size in the over bump style, but they weren't stretchy, so felt like they'd fall down. Peacocks had none in my size, and neither did New Look, who didn't have ANY over bump jeans. So I'm resigned to going to the nearest Mothercare which is half an hour up the motorway, or looking on eBay :(

Mothercare is so expensive! I'm on eBay now, problem is I like to try things on before I buy them as my size fluctuates.

Anyone know if the Primark in Liverpool One has a good range of Maternity wear? I really don't want to trek all the way there.

Or the one in Wigan - Sami, workinmummy?!!!!!

Aw what? I am sure I saw a post on a thread on here that said someone had got some from Primark.

I have just measured my inside leg - 25" - I am officially vertically challenged!

Found some on ebay that are 27" so should be OK.
