    Mog-us Chop-us!

Smashing way to spend the day and very MSE too. Its the little efforts that add up for sure.

MR GG made us some lunch today and I only ate half a sarnie and he said he eat the half I left and he said "it needs eating up and I don't want to throw it away! What a waste!" Then gave me a sly ole wink.

Briefly looked out of the window and its gone very dark out there and its resembling a scene from a horror movie, when the rain is heavy and the sky is black, all we're missing is some chilling music.....

I know us horsey peeples are wanting the rain as the ground has been so hard lately and it will help the grass grow for the summer, this is ridiculous! Been raining all day. Might have to send the dog out on its walk on its own......

Yep been chucking down here all day too, and I sympathise with you horsey people - coz my mum is one of them there horsey people too!!!

Maybe you could train the dog, to go for a walk and come back by himself? Now that would be good...:rotfl:

Ooohhh....so close to a NSD today!!!! A definitely very LSD - only £1 for a loaf of bread!! So near and yet so far!! :rotfl:

We have just had a most delicious tea - chicken casserole with yorkshire puds, mash & veggies, followed by home made syrup sponge pudding!! Bearing in mind I am not a cook, nor a baker, for me to make a syrup sponge pudding is pretty darn miraculous!! :T:T

Well.....it was a bit of a cheat....as I did it in the microwave :o but I still had to mix it all up first!! This is the recipe.....

    Microwave Golden Syrup Sponge Pudding
    • 100 g self raising flour
    • 100 g butter
    • 100 g sugar
    • 30 ml milk
    • 2 eggs (beaten)
    • few vanilla essence
    • grated zest of half a lemon
    • 3 tablespoons of golden syrup
Cream the butter and sugar together. Gradually add the eggs and vanilla essence. Add the flour, milk and lemon zest.
Put the golden syrup in the bottom of a two pint bowl. Spoon the mixture on top. Place in microwave (with a plate on top). Cook for 3.5 minutes on high. Serve with custard or ice cream.
(N.B. if doubling quantitites, cook for 5.5 minutes on high).

I got it from a friend on facebook, and oh WOW! It was delicious! Only thing I didnt add was the lemon zest as I didnt have a lemon - but didnt miss it!! Will definitely be making that again!! :j

Crikey not 55 minutes!!!! 5.5!!!!! It says 3.5 mins - or 5.5 if doubling the quanity to make a bigger one!

    I actually did 4.25 minutes :p in a 700w microwave!!!
  • Oh ! Must be my eyesight. I read 55mins. The sponge would explode at that duration I am sure.

    Ta for the clarification.

Miserable mopey Mogchops here today :(

Yes I knew that the DFW journey was not going to be an easy one, but its a struggle at the moment! :o

Hardly any real money left, so todays shopping & petrol has gone on the CC. Am so disappointed but needs must. Its not like I've just gone out & blown a fortune on new clothes or shoes is it? :o

I kept the shopping as low as possible today, but had to fill up with petrol as we are off to Cornwall tomorrow to my dads. So yes will cost in petrol, but will be fed and watered for the 3 days that we are there, and cant wait to see them. :j

DH was doing so well with cutting down on his beer, but this last week he has crept up again, he wont talk to me about why, but I think its work stress, but he bottles things up and wont share it, then I get upset and fraught and worried which doesnt do anyone any good. :o

I've suffered from post natal depression in the past, so am well aware of the warning signs of depression and anxiety - and they are ringing big bells in my head at the moment. I dont want to go down that route again, most definitely not the pill route. Part of me thinks a counsellor would help, to just pour it all out to a stranger could be quite beneficial (bit like on here really!! :rotfl:)

I phoned DH in tears earlier while he was at work, which wasnt fair on him, as he was hardly in a postition to be able to do anything!! We're going to have a chat tonight over steak and stir fry once the DDs have gone to bed.

There are positives though - am really looking forward to seeing my family over the weekend, so will focus on that.

Sorry to moan, hope I havent spoilt anyones evening :o

:j:j:j at the £600 that is a great acheivement and even a :j to the only needing the cc at the end of the month.

:mad::mad: at the stress and depression for both of your. They have alot to answer for. Counselling and venting on here both great ideas. Dont totally dismis pills if it continues to deteriorate a pain I know but they can help. I do sincerly hope that you dont get any worse and that its been nipped in the bud.

Im getting seriously bored stuck at home with my blooming foot that Im starting to weaken to online shopping :o:o:o

Awwwwww sending you a hug HSbearhugblinkie1.gif....

But you're right - think about that £600, it's a fab amount to have reduced your debt by in such a short time....and if you hadn't gone all DFW, then you'd have added to the debt....you're flying in the right direction.

Hope you have a lovely weekend - relax and enjoy your family, you'll feel better for it:p
