The Great 'Back-up your mobile data' Hunt

If you have a Sony Ericsson then Float's Mobile Agent is worthwhile trying out. Its freely available, and can use cable, bluetooth, or infrared. It has its own calendar which you can use or it can sync with Outlook also.
I found the SonyEricsson software a bit fussy to use, I suspect because it assumed that Outlook would be on your computer, and it wasn't on mine! I found V2.1 of Mobile Agent much easier to setup than earlier versions, so would look at that version.

I can back up my Nokia 6230 by bluetooth no problem but my SE K700i doesn't communicate with my laptop (s) ( both Sony Vaio by the way).
I want to have all my contacts on both notebooks and both phones (one is personal and one is work) but I can't seem to get it together, maybe it's just me0 -

you can install both and they both work.
i do not allow them to run in background because then there would be so many programs running that my oc wouldn't work. i run them as needed.

have a Sony Ericsson here ( P910 ) so using bluetooth it sync up my phone with my PC's Outlook.
Then sometimes export that address book into my gmail account and my website just incase my pc goes !!!!!! !0 -
To go off on a tangent, my preferred back-up method is particularly lo-fi and involves a simple Excel spreadsheet on my PC listing everyone's name and number, reviewed periodically for new/updated numbers. It may be a little more time-consuming than connecting to PC mobile software or using a SIM back-up device but if you're less technically minded there's no software or connections to configure, no hardware to purchase and no subscription costs!Stay away from that Trap Door, 'cause there's something down there... :eek:0

Filled up at a Texaco the other week and they were offering sim card back up devices at £2.99 when you bought petrol, a friend used to work at this place and normally these items end up kicking around in the back after the promo has finished, might be worth aasking or keeping your eye open if the promo card is on the pumps0

Oxygen is one of the best mobile backup packages out there, and backs up everything, including address book, messages, user files (photo's, etc.) and others. They come compatible with various phones. Try them @ oxygensoftware.com, price is around £25 I think.Interested in property investment, web tech, social media, forex, equities. Also a proud father & entrepreneur of sorts.0
