THere's only me, and I struggle to do a wash a week of clothes!!!!

Over a month, taking into account the rug wash, towel washes, bedding, then probably about eight, so averaging two I suppose (because I have a lodger and i do her towels as well, and she also doesn;t tend to wipe her feet when she comes in so the rugs get dirty quicker)

  • Horrifies me to add it up but I do about 14 washes a week. We aren't fastidious at all but live rurally in muddy Devon with two adolescents and two dogs. I don't wash the sheets every week as we all bath/shower every day but we do use great big bath sheets which fills the wm . Feeling guilty as I ought to be a bit greener! :o

    2 adults and 2 smelly teenagers! I wash about 10 - 12 loads a week
I change the beds weekly, thats 3 loads then 1 or 2 loads a day. I work in care and need to change daily as its quite mucky! can't seem to make it any less without compromising on my standards of cleanliness!

  • Theres 3 of us and we do on average about 10-16 loads a week. Bedding is done on a friday and is 3 loads for ours and DD's bedding. Towels, tea-towels weekly etc. Due to health problems, I sometimes have accidents and this obviously means more washing.

I find stuff about the detail of other peoples lives so fascinating - or maybe I am just nosey?

We are two adults, 2 year old and a baby. We do at least 15 washes a week - our bedding, childrens bedding, 2 washes for towels, a sock wash, then a wash for tea towels, baby bibs and dish clothes. Then usually do coloureds every couple of days, a shirt wash for my husbands work clothes and a couple of dark washes and white washes.

When I write it down like this is seems a bit excessive. Especially given that I am now staring at a large mound of clean washing that needs to be ironed.

Loads! Somewhere between 8 and infinity I guess. There are 3 of us in the house, DD (2yrs), DH and I. I do DD's nappies every 2 days, bedlinen every fortnight, towels every week, clothes do tend to only get worn once, except jeans & jumpers, clean tea towel every day - if not more often (DH says I have a "thing" about clean tea towels, hrmph!)

About 14 for us. Two adults a 4 yo and 2 yo plus one black cat. 2 yo is a muck monster and can easily go through at least three changes of clothes a day. Our cat likes to sleep in/on the beds too and his favourite place for washing the mud off his paws is on the clean washing pile if he can get it

2 adults and 3 kids in our house, I'd say somewhere between 14 and 20 loads a week. I always seem to be washing. Washing the bedding takes about 5 loads!!
  • 2 adults and 2 kids (7 & 1yrs). Bedding is done once a fortnight. Towels changed every 1 - 2 baths (baths daily). Clothes go in wash after one wear, especially kids! Tend to save all washing up and do it at the weekend, maybe 6 - 8 loads in 6kg machine. Also wash the couch covers once every couple of months.

    2 adults, 1 15yo ds.
Bedding done fortnightly, ours one week, his the next. I do about 4 loads per week, sometimes 5.
When our DD & older DS were here, I did about 7 loads, sometimes 8. This meant 2 loads on one or two days, as I prefer not to do washing etc on Sundays except in an emergency!
