My washing machine is on most days, sometimes twice a day & there are 3 of us (me, hubby & 2 year old daughter). My machine is a 6kg capacity as is my dryer (also used almost daily).
I didn't have a washer recently for 3 weeks due to a fault, I ended up getting a new 1 & used it about 10 times on the 1st day.0 -
Theres me, OH, DD (3) and DS(1) and our machine is one at least twice a day - thats prob my fault as kids are forever getting their clothes changed - drives me mad seeing them in a top splashed with juice or somethine, if I was to leave it to OH if would prob be half that amount as his idea of clean clothes and mine are 2 different thingsJoined slimming world Feb 2010

I usually do at least one wash a day but sometimes two. Always got laundry in the basket though. Thats for one adult and two kids, 4 and 6. As mentioned above, I use soda in the wash too, along with a little scoop of washing powder. The clothes aren't that dirty, just need freshening up really.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. two of us. No real sporty stuff these days. 3 loads a week: dark, hot whites and cool. Bedding in 2 loads every 2 weeks0

There are only 2 of us but I reckon to do at least 5 loads per week.
I use a top sheet under the duvet, I change this and bottom sheets and pillowcases weekly, but only change duvet cover once every month. ( on 4th week don't use a top sheet.) This saves time washing and ironing (I know I like them to look nice - and it's only once a month!) and as they're not washed so often they keep their colour better.
I change bathroom and kitchen hand towels twice weekly and we use one bath towel each per week
We both only wear white undies and I NEVER wash whites with coloureds - this keeps them really white for years.
Then usually one load of 'pales and one of 'darks' - may be more depending on need0 -
Just the two of us and we do maybe three loads a week.
I wait til there is a full load to do and I often tend to wear outer-type clothes twice before washing (although more in winter and not as much in summer), and never just wash a couple of things by themselves. I grew up in Oz where water is considered as valuable as gold.
I wear things like jeans for a few days more before washing, so as to reduce washing wear and tear, energy consuption and also water consuption. So all up less work for me and better for the planet.0 -
I do 6 or 7 loads per week. There are 2 adults plus 3 small children in our house. I change either our bed or the kids' beds every week and towels whenever I remember to :rotfl: If outer clothes aren't dirty or smelly, then I do try to get another wear out of the them and I only ever do full loads of washing.

Phew - I've been thinking recently we do too much washing for only 2 of us - glad I'm not too bad.
Bedding does get washed each week - and takes two loads on 60 degree wash. I must admit I'm fussy about this because our 2 cats sleep on the bed which is very cute but does create a lot of fluff  We also use 2 king size sheets which I starch, a king size duvet and 4 pillow cases, so they won't fit in the machine in one go....
I have a few hand washing bits but these probably get done once a fortnight as I'm not keen to slave away over a sink..
Then probably 3 loads a week of clothes - all on quick wash.
Towels once a fortnight as I save them up and do them in one load.
Then when I run out of teatowles, clothes and dusters they all go in a boil wash - probably once a month as I've got a plentiful supply...
So on average 5 a week, plus a few 'extras' ad hoc.
