How many loads of washing a week?

It varies so much here. We all do sports of some kind so that has to be washed after every wear. The kids seem to be coming home with their uniforms covered in mud at the moment so thats a clean pair of trousers every day.
I do sheets and bedding once a fortnight, unless its summer and its been really hot weather. I will push the kids bedding to 3 weeks sometimes if the weather is really bad in winter but mine has to be done once a fortnight!
On average maybe 5/6 loads a week?0 -
I found this thread very enlightening - so many variations and not a few extremes imho.
I had no idea some people was the actual duvets every week! Mine get done 2 or 3 times a year but the covers once a fortnight.
I do towels when they smell or look grubby as some get used more than others, so they might last 2 days or 2 weeks!
But we are all different.
Wondered about the "soda and liquid" trick - is that to save money or improve results?0 -
about 6 or 7 prob.
Dd's clothes get washed sdsperately in sensitive powder with extra rinses for her eczema - maybe 1/2 loads a week - def more in summer when she is outside getting grubby!
1 load of ds schooliform, 2/3 of general stuff (dh wear a clean shirt everyday, I wear mine til it looks or smells dirty!), 1 load of towels a 1/2 of bedding - I change once a fortnight alternating kids and mine each weekendPeople seem not to see that their opinion of the world is also a confession of character.

i probably do a load a day all bedding once a week and boil wash all towels once a week i am one of these peeps that has to seperate the colours whites etc i cant bung it in together so i sometimes wait till i have enough of a load to go in. i dont wash unnessarily as i dont feel everything needs it and it is a waste of time water and electric, fine if you have cash to splash.:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

4 lots of bedding per week (on a good week - it does occasionally go to 2 weeks)
towels as appropriate - not one person can put a used towel back on the rail......
and from April - Sept cricket/fishing gear!
And 3 loads of DS's McDonalds uniform - after it has soaked overnight in washing up liquid and soda crystals! I won't put it through with anything else cos it gets so manky! And despite the washing instructions it goes in a 60 degree wash - the ONLY way to get the grease out....
It's a good thing that I've got a Miele washing machine given the workload.....:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Goodness me, I hate to admit how many times I wash.
Well there is 4 of us (me, OH and a 6 and a 5yr old) The boys aren't always dry through the night, but they're doing reasonably well, so washing all that can mean duvet, sheet, and waterproof sheet as well as PJs. Our bedding gets done once every 10 or so days (!), clothes - in separate coloured / white washes. Whites - once a week (usually saturday then I can wash the boys school poloshirts!) coloureds - maybe 3 / 4 times a week as everything else gets put in there. Curtains etc just get a spraying of febreeze or something like it if they need it!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

I'd have airers that could go out in nice weather.. if they didn't like it.. tough..
Curtains.. I find if a room is smelly they are usually the culprit.. they get damp and musty next to the cold windows. I do mine when I can persuade someone to mountaineer and get them down for me lol.
There are now 11 of us here.. and I probably now do around 70 loads of laundry a week.. 3 or 4 of baby stuff, and now the children are bigger I fit less items in the washer but the same number of things get worn!
It's been great this week though with sunshine I've been whizzing through maybe 16+ loads a day and getting it dried and put away.

neighbours. That is all I need to say
they would report it within a minute of me putting them outside which is INFURIATING. Unfortunately we didn't see the contract thing until 2 weeks before moving in which was a bit late
So despite owning the apartment, and garden there's a long list of rules which I can't break
I have considered one of those retractable lines maybe..?0
