Just a thought...don't crisps have a shortish use by date? No idea if they would be any different after their use by date.
What I wouldn't do to live on an island....0 -

Well if you don't mind the fact that you can't ever have a 'nice hairstyle', sensible shoes are usually needed, umberellas are useless and most big stores don't deliver to you (and there's no fast food chains) then islands are great.
Happy to keep note and see what I actually spend - I am never this organised!:rotfl:
I lived in a place like that on the mainlandalthough I must admit we had a hairdresser within an hour's bus ride.
I'm impressed with your list. Makes my store cupboard look a bit measly... don't throw the string away. You always need string!

Oh don't be - the cupboard is an absolute pickle.
AND - I am the victim of my own pathetic-ness - I make everything pretty much from scratch - not cos I am a hero - just cos I wouldn't know what to buy and its all so expensive - I don't use much in the way of ready stuff as because to be honest I don't know much about it all, don't understand alot of the ingredients in it and stuff - I am rubbish with instant food. (especially supernoodles - I mean how can I go wrong with those?!)
Can't tell you the amount of time I have burnt instant pizza/pies etc - its a joke in our house - if it has a packet and instructions - I am completely lost and I might as well set fire to it cos 9 times out of 10 it will end up burnt!!
:rotfl:
The kids long for me to get better at it - but to no avail!! Do they appreciate all the home made stuff - of course not - its just taken as read that I can make it - kids eh?!
I also work full time and so I tend to try and cook batch stuff at weekends etc to take something out through the week.
We have also been as skint for as long as I can remember we have been use to livng on so little but I find it cheaper to make my own stuff.
There's something very theraputic about a groaning store cupboard - endless possibilities:D
This site is helping enormously - I have to say - but I am keeping us on a really tight budget (to pay off debts) and hope to get better at budgeting for things like food because its probably my worst vice!Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.
