Hi MattyNeth, I really think if possible you should pay heed to the other posters and go to a branch. As I said earlier I had the same responce as you every time I called but on taking driving licence and current statement to the branch I got the card within days and the balance transfer requested was done there at the branch. It's worth the trip, (make sure they give you the 9 month offer)

Went to local branch today as application form 'lost' three times in post (applied 22 Jan) they phoned up Cust care for me to confirm I will still get 9 months.

Excellent service, all signed and hoping for the card shortly...

    Hi,

Can you tell me if HSBC can, after you apply online reduce the term for 0%, I applied online on 11/2/06 and I am almost 100% certain it was at 0% for 9 months, I have had to chase up my application after 2 weeks of waiting for a reply to say whether I had been succesful. When I finally received the papers to sign I noticed it said 6 months at 0%. Are they allowed to reduce this due to me not having signed the papers?

From reading other posts it seems I may be in for a long wait for the card arrrgg. Wish I'd of just gone into the branch now.

    Many thanks

Finally for my card yesterday. Loan agreement from early Feb stated 9 months 0%, but letter with card said 6 months 0%.

Called up to transfer some balances and rep said it was for 6 months only. After being put through to a manager it was confirmed as 9 months at 0%.

    A lovely £2,210 transferred at 0% until 7th December 2005 :-)

Aiming to have that paid off by end of year
  • well, incredibly, after going into the branch and getting my papers stamped and sent through to card services, along with further calls to card services, another weeks wait and more calls to the branch - finally, today i received......................................

another letter asking me to send in id documents  roflmao, well enough is enough, I have now got myself another card so I too can now play the loooooooong game with HSBC :D

hehe, really the poorest service bar none, not even powergen were this bad when sending their bailiff letters every week for "phantom bills" :rotfl:
