My HSBC card arrived this morning after... wait for it... two days! That's right, went into branch to apply on Wednesday morning with passport and electricity bill, arrived by courier this morning.
Mind you, I missed out on the 9 months because I wanted to apply in-branch and this week was the first time I could go, and they gave me the lowest credit limit I've had for ages.
They offered to do the BT there and then but I'm going to wait until nearly the end of the 30 days as my Virgin card's not quite out of 0% yet.0 -
What a total shambles HSBC have been with that 9month 0% offer. My current 0% deal runs out on March 6th. I applied first week in Jan - just to be on the safe side. I finally received a letter saying I've been accepted about 3 weeks ago and they asked for some original proof of address bills. This thread has prompted me into calling them - they cannot say when I will receive my card though he kindly said my limit was £3.5k which is great news. Having said it seems VERY unlikely I'm going to get it before March 6th which is very annoying as I'll suddenly be paying bloomin interest to RBS :wall:0

What annoys me about hsbc if you can only call between 9-5 mon-fri when most people are at work anyway. Unless anyone else knows any different of course...?

I applied on 1st Feb - got my agreement today and I am still getting the 9 months 0% deal because I applied before the deal ended - happy days!0

gaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrggggggggghhhh  - went into the branch - what a joke, dumb and dumber on the counter spent 15 minutes trying to understand there own companies letters, 25 minutes later, exit the branch no freekin further on, jeez I don't know how anyone else got their branch to sort it out when the muppets I had to talk to couldn't see the information at all.
jeez, i thought barclays were bad but by christ there incompetence pales compared to HSBC0 -
Thanks for the advice sicker. Just been to my local HSBC and completed my application with them. Everything set up there and then and my balance transfer sorted out too. My paperwork came with 6mths 0% instead of 9mths. Gave a quick call to India and they said would ensure 9mths given because application date before 15 Feb. As it turned out the lady at the bank entered 9mths 0% into the computer anyway.
Take passport/driving licence and your other id stuff with you. (Credit card statement fine if all utility bills are via Internet, like mine.) Was told card should take 7/10 days but they're having a quick turnaround at the moment so should be couple of days !!
Sorry ronaldmacdonald had problems...maybe counter staff don't know the procedure. I asked to speak to someone in a little office :-)
These guys have taken ages to process the whole thing. I applied on 2 Feb, so I guess I'm not doing so bad looking at others experience.0 -
Glad to have helped jetsetuk.

UPDATE...My HSBC card arrived on Thursday 2nd March, two days after going into the branch with the approval letter. BT already showing on account. If I had posted the acceptance back, the turnaround would have been two working weeks and I my BT finish date with my other card would be expired. Phew !!0

well - after reciving my paper work and completing the application in branch - recived card stating that it was 6 months - i copied the orignal docs stated 9 months and the lower apr 13.9%.So when i activated the card and thank god got some very nice scottish lady she escalted a complaint against the branch as when in the branch i told them 3 times - even after following all the usefull posts off here and going the branch they still manage to frek it upTell it as it should be....0

Applied in Jan, received letter saying approved end of Jan, called every week since then and each time,
"You will get your card in the next 7-10 days" including today - just got off phone to them - a total and utter joke. I will insist on the 9 months taking effect from the date I receive the card - completely pointless having it otherwise!0
