Most banks will accept just a driving license for address and a passport for id - I opened my HSBC and Barclays accounts with these 2 items only0

456789 is correct. Take your passport and both parts of your driving license (photocard and paper part) with you and that will be perfect.Kavanne
Nuns! Nuns! Reverse!

Barclays will open on a passport alone, or a driving license - even if it has the wrong address, provided that it has your full name and date of birth. What would William Shatner do?0

Just use the driving license as proof of address, since it has the address you are living at.BarclaysManager wrote: »Barclays will open on a passport alone, or a driving license - even if it has the wrong address, provided that it has your full name and date of birth.
Why does 'physical' proof of address isn't needed? I assume (or we take it) that the OP is not the voters roll yet. For sure, he needs 'physical' proof of address.0 -

How does the staff know if the address provided is true, and the person is actually living at that address then?
Also, according to the Barclays website, physical proof of ID and address is needed....0 -
Passport will be fine. Im surprised a driving licence with the wrong address would be accepted. Im sure if the police stopped you while driving that having the licence with incorrect address is an offence?0

On this occassion, i have to disagree with oga Barclays Mgr.
You must present something to prove your address. If not physical then u must be on electoral roll.
If a financial institution fails to verify your address thru physical or electronic means then they are in breach of money laundering regulations.
The only exception is when opening accounts for children. POR - proof of resiidence is not required0 -

Credit check would verify if the address given is correct. The application might get refered and underwriters may request a proof of address such as utility bill or benefit letter.0 -
