New customer - got free Sky + and installation.

Are doing my phone line for £25, slightly annoyed by this as feel I could have got it for free with the right people on the other end of the phone but hey ho.

I had Sky + installed in early March (under the MSE offer) and received my M&S vouchers a couple of days ago.

I had a strange letter from Sky this morning saying that a 'friend or relative' with a Sky Barclaycard has credited me with some of their reward points and I'm getting £5 off my next bill. Rather bizarre as I know no-one with a Sky Barclaycard . Wondering if this is some marketing thing whereby I ring up to ask about it and then they try and sell me one - too busy to ring so I'll just take the fiver and remain confused!

Allan673 - only just got your pm, sorry I haven't replied yet. I'll get round to looking for the info when the children have finished trying to kill each other :rotfl:

Plus ca change, plus c'est la meme chose.
  • I've just spent ages on the phone speaking to various advisors and various managers who just didn't believe me that there was such an offer as free sky+ AND free M&S vouchers.

They kept saying they simply woudn't do it and because I had the Sky+ I wasn' allowed the vouchers!

I was able to email them this thread and on that basis they've accepted that there was 'maybe' such an offer but they're still requiring me to post in the page I printed of my order confirmation (thank f*ck I printed it)

Has anyone got an email confirmation or anythin else like that to 'back up' their claim? I don't think I did.

    Ridiculous!

I have seen quite a few posts here where people have not had any luck with Sky getting the M&S vouchers. Is this something that Martin or someone at MoneySavingExpert can take up with Sky? I too have taken their offer and really dont think it is fair that I have to spend hours and hours on the phone enhancing their coffers while they lead us on a merry- go-phone-round. If they have advertised such an offer (Sky+ and M&S Vouchers) I do believe they are bound to honour it. After all they have got many new customers as a result of this offer through MSE.

That is great news. Thanks for sharing that on the forum. How did you get in touch with Sky? Did you send it to any specific eMail address?
I havent got any replies for the queries I sent.
  • The info I rec'd said the vouchers will be sent after the first dd is taken - it doesn't say how long after, however ;)

This information seems to be correct as I joined Sky on the 22nd of March. They took payment on the 12th of April and today they sent me the M&S vouchers.

Thanks for all the information and replies to my messages.
  • Just to let people know, i also received my vouchers today in an unmarked envelope with my name spelt wrong on the top. almost threw it in the recycle bin without opening as i thought it might have been an ad.

I joined using the mse offer on the 25th of march and they took the first dd on the 14th of April and got the vouchers today, hope that helps someone.
